Head of Design - New Product Initiatives

Are you a design leader with a passion for crafting high quality experiences? We are looking for a leader to guide the design team of our "Point A" new product initiatives . At Atlassian we are revolutionizing the software industry and helping teams collaborate in deeper, more meaningful ways. Think NASA launching the Rover on Mars or Cochlear working on enabling children born deaf with the ability to hear, your work directly impacts the products they use to advance humanity.
Your role will be to help grow, nurture and scale the design team, while ensuring we focus on the right problems and stay true to shipping valued experiences to our customers. You'll work collaboratively with product and design leaders across the company to incubate and grow new products for the Atlassian portfolio. In this role you'll also be a strategic partner of the Point A leadership team, working closely with Engineering and Product to inform strategy and roadmap decisions for the incubations.
What we think it will take to flourish as a design leader for the team:
- Ability to lead and manage some of our highest performing designers across San Francisco, CA, Austin, TX and Sydney AU.
- A passion for developing and growing others, you'll coach and inspire your team towards success and cohesion.
We're hoping you have a mix of the below (doesn't have to be all!):
- You have 10+ years of professional UX design experience
- Experience leading the design of a technical product
- You'll harness your significant experience (5+ years) leading and managing a senior-level team
- You have a strong passion for (and possibly experience in) building sophisticated enterprise-level software
- You're able to demonstrate an history of shipping simple, beautiful software experiences
- You'll have an extensive understanding of UX processes, user research, frameworks and toolkits
