  • Purpose of Job
    • Plan, develop, produce and manage creative solutions that effectively communicate the college's mission and initiatives.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
      • Undergraduate degree in graphic design or minimum 5 years of design experience required with emphasis in both print and electronic design and composition, with continuing education in new or updated software
      • Stay current with technology advances in graphic arts and design.
    • Experience
      • Minimum 4 years professional experience in graphic design working in an agency or corporate environment.
    • License/Certifications
      • Portfolio of print and digital work required along with resume and references as part of the interview process.
    • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
      • Proficiency working with graphic design software such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and other programs within Adobe Master Creative Suite, strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint, and electronic delivery and communication systems.
      • Good understanding of website design, including design of e-newsletters, landing pages, blogs and mobile design with basic knowledge of Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and Javascript.
      • Thorough knowledge of design and production techniques; strong understanding of advertising techniques to develop the overall layout and production of both print and electronic visual materials including brochures, newsletters, advertising, direct mail, interactive media, multimedia projects and internet material.
      • High level of organization skills with strong abilities in problem-solving, managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and staying within budget.
      • High attention to detail as well as solid knowledge of production operations for advertising and promotional material, as well as good understanding of internet/website design.
      • Must have strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, and able to work independently as well as within a team environment.
      • Excellent oral, written, and visual communication skills.
      • Perform other marketing and marketing communications-related activities as assigned by supervisor including trade show attendance, presentations, and other marketing-related activities.
  • Essential Job Functions
    • Conceptualizes and develops advertising, promotional pieces, and internet marketing components through digital design to effectively convey the college's messages while keeping within brand guidelines.
    • Communicates projects' status to appropriate stakeholders.
    • Collaborates with marketing personnel to conceptualize, develop and implement new marketing concepts and initiatives that help to attract new students on campus and online.
    • Revises, updates, and produces college materials used to communicate the college's messages to constituents, stakeholders and the public.
    • Oversees design work undertaken by outside vendors and proofreads artwork at all stages of production, making any changes necessary.
    • Makes all creative decisions involving graphics, artwork, photography and design in keeping with college brand standards and current themes for the college website.
    • Designs and develops online marketing programs including graphic updates, e-mail promotions, landing pages, e-newsletters and other forms of Search Engine Marketing (SEM) in conjunction with marketing.
    • Gathers and organizes all marketing elements used for advertising and promotions including photography, video clips, animation, icons, logos, and other visual elements.
