What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and implement advanced signal processing algorithms with applications to GPS/GNSS receivers, communication transceivers and/or digital signal processing primarily on FPGA hardware.
- Analysis of signal processing performance using MATLAB, Python, or similar simulation environments.
- Prototype cutting-edge real-time systems for emulation and proof of concept.
- Research pertaining to advanced signal processing, GPS technology and/or re-configurable communication systems.
- Deliver detailed signal analyses, prototype hardware designs and communication system assessments via briefings and/or technical reports to customers and colleagues.
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Electrical Engineering or another related field.
- 5 years of experience (either in the workforce or in pursuing an advanced degree) in FPGA hardware design.
- Experience implementing digital communications and/or DSP algorithms in hardware using FPGAs and/or ASICs.
- Proficiency in Verilog or VHDL, logic implementation, and simulation tools for complex FPGA designs.
- Laboratory experience troubleshooting digital hardware designs using logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscope, and other standard test equipment.
- Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: MATLAB, Python, or C.
- Experience providing technical assessments, both in written and verbal forms, to an audience with a wide range of backgrounds.
- Willing to travel approx. 15%
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Masters or PhD degree from an accredited program in Communication Theory and Digital Signal Processing or another related field.
- More than 8 years of experience in FPGA hardware design.
- Detailed understanding of FPGA RTL design, hardware architecture, testbench design, synthesis, static timing analysis, timing closure, and clock domain crossing.
- Able to work in a dynamic environment, guiding and executing taskings for small teams of engineers on several projects within a technical focus area.
