We're seeking an established and dynamic Service Design leader focused on strategic product vision, design talent growth, and coordinating teams to execute for impact at scale across the
Tech Design team in Experience Design at Capital One. You will work in close partnership with leaders in Design, Product, Tech, and Operations to solve extremely challenging problems, achieve scalable results, and deliver innovative, experience-led product strategies.
As a leader in the Tech Design team, you will grow, inspire and empower a high-performing and innovative group of Service and UX/UI designers in defining and delivering compelling, end-to-end product experiences that simplify the complex across platforms and customer types.
You'll clear the path for great design with a seat on the cross-functional Tech Design leadership team, with whom you'll build the program culture and operating model.

As a leader and maker, you'll be asked to handle a variety of responsibilities, including:
Strategy & Planning
Leading collaboration with technology, product, and business teams to uncover customer and business needs - then translating them into intuitive and engaging digital experiences
Guiding results-driven, end-to-end design from strategy to execution
Leading in translating complex ideas into understandable concepts that evolve and enhance the product and service experiences
Drive and participate in forming and reforming strategy, product vision, and execution plans
Foster the growth and impact of our products, and negotiate the best outcomes for our customers, associates, and business
Consult on and align with the needs of your partners in defining portfolio plans, and spot opportunities with peers in Tech Design leadership to seek out and shape integrated experiences that connect more parts of our customers' and associates' needs and business strategies
Assess the skills and development areas of the designers on your team to align them to the right opportunities to deliver key results and encourage their growth
Lead & Develop Teams
Guiding and growing the design leaders within the team that reports to you, enabling them to scale and create value through the experiences they deliver with their teams and partners.
Building and leading successful teams by mentoring, coaching, and elevating others
Leading your team through career development plans to encourage talent growth
Participate in hiring by reviewing resumes, conducting interviews and attending consensus
Basic Qualifications
At least 10 years experience leading Customer Experience, Product Design, or Experience Design
At least 8 years of experience managing a cross-functional team of design strategists, content strategists, researchers, and UX/UI designers
Preferred Qualifications
A track record of partnership building and leadership of design teams that span research, strategy, and execution
A deep understanding of human-centered design, UX practices, and building high-performing teams that balance design skillsets
A critical eye for exceptional design quality, and effective practices in delivering design critique and growth feedback to your team
Bachelors Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Behavioral Science
