We are looking for an Executive Creative Director (ECD) to lead creative teams supporting performance marketing channels and campaigns. A performance ECD will direct the creative strategy, development, innovation and production of creative assets across the consumer journey. Specifically in website, banner, social and email channels. They will partner closely with marketing segments and channel leads to understand business goals and consumer needs. This role is accountable for delivery of results and making the Capital One brand easy to remember and easy to choose.

- Operate in many roles- creative leader, general manager, strategist, operations lead, and innovator.
- Keep the creative team ahead of the curve and develop world-class emerging creative talent and leaders.
- Use your strong digital & direct response expertise and the ability to quickly identify, address and incorporate emerging data and tech trends into strategic direction.
- Proactively overcome adversity and obstacles.
- Present complex concepts to leadership and decision makers and influence the overall marketing strategy of a business.
- Work with a diverse, talented team that is doing breakthrough, consumer driven creative work.
- Partner with senior business leaders to define how creative teams deliver against performance marketing objectives across segments and campaigns - and provide a plan of action and guidance on how to achieve business and brand results.
- Take a proactive approach to the use of technology and data to develop plans that personalize experiences and messages for audiences
- Partner with other Executive Creative Directors to guide, manage and elevate the overall creative output of the department.
- Provide creative oversight, guidance and direction for creative across a variety of channels and product campaigns; developed by internal and external creative associates.
- Serve as the voice of what on-brand, effective creative means and looks like at Capital One.
- Consistently evaluate the industry and beyond to ensure the delivery of leading edge, relevant and impactful creative approaches.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or military experience.
- At least 10 years of experience leading creative development teams
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience leading and directing large, multi-discipline creative teams.
- At least 8 years of digital or mobile campaign experience at an Advertising Agency, Studio Agency or Corporate in house creative team.
- At least 3 years leading an in-house creative team.
- Direct management of a creative team of 15+ people.
- Creative portfolio that includes produced work for large, integrated marketing campaigns.
- Direct experience leading creative development for large, highly regulated brands such as those in the finance, healthcare, pharmaceutical, insurance or education categories.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Location is New York City
- $195,800 and $231,000 for Director, Brand
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
