Digital Strategy Lead – Equipment Management

The (Construction Digital and Technology) CD&T team has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Strategy Lead who will apply their expertise to contribute to Caterpillar’s strategy and tactical execution to expand our leadership in construction telematics including all equipment and mobile assets on a jobsite. 

Key job responsibilities include:

• Understand the future direction of digital trends related to equipment and fleet management.
• Interact with customers to have an in-depth understanding of their operations to improve their equipment management processes.
• Create and prioritize equipment management requirements that drive services growth.
• Create and prioritize equipment management requirements and processes that support and align with Caterpillar’s condition monitoring products and processes.
• Review and providing counsel for all major "Business Case Analysis" efforts.
• Develop the interdependencies between major applications and efforts
• Define requirements for digital solutions for fleet and equipment management.
• Provide deep expertise to assist with the adoption and promotion of equipment and fleet management solutions.
• Provide project leadership, advice, and counsel to developers, management, customers, and project teams on the most complex aspects of application development and system integration.
• Liaise and align with dealers and multiple business units in the enterprise to enable strategic solutions.

Basic Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university OR (4+ years) of experience relevant to this role in lieu of degree.
• 9+ years of progressively responsible role relevant experiences that demonstrate both breadth of business knowledge and depth of digital skillsets, including:
  • 2+ years’ experience working in the field for an equipment OEM or distributor to drive technology adoption in the construction or mining industries.
  • 2+ years’ experience working with telematics solutions, equipment management, or parts and service sales and marketing.

Top candidates will also have:

• Strong analytical skills.
• Demonstrate experience translating customer needs to development requirements for software.
• Consistently produce high-quality work by asking the right questions, thinking critically about problems, and relentlessly pursuing quality.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies as they will participate in multiple projects representing expertise for digital offerings and strategic alignment.
• Curiosity about and a deep interest in how digital technology and systems are powering the way users do their jobs.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where digital is still evolving as a core offering.

• Peoria, IL is the location for this role.
• Relocation assistance is available for this role.
• Travel will be 25% or less.
