Who we are looking for
We are looking for a Digital Product Design Director to lead design direction and strategy for Nike.Partners, Nike's B2B eCommerce and collaboration platform. You are a creator, innovator, and collaborator. Having perfected your craft, you are a source of inspiration and lead your team through the creative and product design process. You maximize insight to understand and deliver value to customers, and simultaneously can't resist envisioning a future that others don't always see. You have the trust of your product partners, working with them to inform roadmaps and new initiatives.
What you will work on
If this is you, you will join the Nike.Partners team as we transform how Nike interacts with our marketplace partners. We are investing in Design as a critical capability for the future, and we need you to help establish this important function and apply your expertise working in empowered product teams to deliver premium experiences for our partners. You will help establish standard methodologies and develop others to be their best by coaching and creating a culture of listening, learning, and valuing diversity of opinion. You will lead by example to obsess customer experience and seek ways to remove friction and improve Nike's business across the globe, engaging with the team as we prototype, learn, and iterate before scaling solutions that drive relevant business value.
Who you will work with
The Nike.Partners Team owns and is responsible for developing the Nike.Partners B2B platform for our global marketplace -- our group exists to bring the brand to life through innovative digital products & services. You will be a key member of an empowered product team, collaborating closely with Product Management and Engineering to engage external customers and internal partners for understanding and insights. You will establish and form relationships with other internal Nike Design groups to help cultivate a community of like-minded influencers. As a key member of this team, you will report to the Sr Product Design Director for Nike.Partners.
What your responsibilities will be

  • Working across multiple, broad initiatives while also diving into specific experiences in your product area to ensure our customers have a premium and frictionless B2B experience
  • Instilling a culture of learning, prototyping, and testing, embedding Design thinking in everything we do across the full end-to-end customer journey
  • Defining and prioritizing the problems being taken on and approach to initiatives
  • Overseeing the overall product execution, culture, process and results of your product areas and the Nike.Partners Product Design org
  • Driving the creation of objectives and key results and defining resourcing plans - assessing needs, making changes accordingly and advocating for headcount as needed
  • Leading your team to consistently demonstrate impact on company-level objectives and key results and improving quality across the design field
  • Empowering your team to own their area's strategies based on the organization's vision
  • Sourcing, attracting and retaining diverse key talent - proactively building hiring pipelines and seeking and attracting the best candidates
  • Demonstrating that diverse and broad teams are important to the success of Nike and actively building them
  • Handling resources (across the entire product area) to meet goals and ensuring cross-functional product teams are setup for success
  • Representing Nike.Partners Product Design internally throughout the company and externally to the design industry by sharing your passion/skills/expertise
  • Identifying, owning and successfully driving substantial Nike.Partners Product Design org-wide initiatives that improve its caliber, efficiency and create a more positive work culture



What you bring to Nike

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the design industry in and around various product design fields (user experience/interaction design, visual design, and research)
  • A bachelor's degree in design, UX/UI design, human-computer interaction, or related field is preferred, but not required
  • Can shape the look and feel of an experience based on your vision and taste
  • Works enthusiastically and collaboratively with cross-functional partners, building positive relationships
  • Impeccable attention to detail in all aspects of your work
  • Can identify great design and provide relevant critiques of discrepancies/opportunities in the team's work
  • Ability to drive initiatives that substantially increase the team's impact, influencing decisions and pursuing big ideas
  • Able to clearly articulate vision and strategy to leadership
  • Big picture thinking that defines and drives toward a bold future vision for your teams, users and the business
  • Have successfully managed and launched large scale cross-platform design projects
  • Exceptional storytelling and communications skills - able to distill your work into narratives that motivate and influence cross functional/cross org teams
  • Ability to cultivate a culture that supports and encourages diversity and inclusion
  • Passion for the Nike brand, sports and for creating high-quality work
  • A fascination with innovation and technology and a specialist understanding of digital tools and trends
