Digital Instructional Designer

Full Time, Remote - US

The Opportunity

The successful candidate for this position will use their skills in instructional design, graphic design, and digital development to create learning content in a variety of formats including online courses, video, virtual and live instructor-led, podcasts and more.

The Team

You'll be part of a creative and passionate enterprise learning team within the Human Resources organization. Areas of focus within our team are virtual and online content development, content curation, facilitation, and change management. This position will focus most heavily on the digital content design and development activities using Articulate 360 and Camtasia. While each team member has responsibility for particular areas of expertise, we work collaboratively and cross-train frequently. We welcome feedback and share it freely. Leadership flows between different members of the team, based on the task at hand. 

The Impact:

You'll support the growth of MassMutual talent as part of smart and inspired team. Your areas of responsibility on the team will include:

  • Consult – Work with Human Resources Business Partners and Talent Leads to identify development needs within their respective business units. Build and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships with Human Resources team members, managers, and vendor partners.

  • Create – Analyze needs and existing content to design learning resources using the most appropriate platform and medium. Utilize agile instructional design techniques and adult learning theory to create (or procure) instructional content. Use learning technology to create and edit multimedia online resources including courses, job aids, and video

  • Assess – Leverage data and analytics to understand the quality and impact of learning content and identify opportunities for change

  • Partner – Act as a key resource on digital content development for the team. Provide support and expertise to teammates who are beginning to develop their skills. Assume a Producer or Facilitator role for training as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying online learning courses in a corporate environment

  • 4+ years of experience with e-course creation software such as Articulate, Storyline, Camtasia

  • 2+ years of experience with learning management platforms such as Workday Learn and Degreed and/or collaboration tools like Slack, MSTeams, Jira, Trello

Ideal Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Instructional design certification (e.g. ADDIE, SAM, Agile)

  • Change management certification
