As Collibra Senior Manager, Design System, you will apply your passion for systems thinking, rapid and iterative product development, and deep collaboration skills to design and develop a robust design system that allows Developers and UX/UI Designers to create compelling, meaningful experiences for our users across all Collibra products. You understand why and how a human-centered design approach transforms a business. You are a designer with a strong engineering background who can inspire and work equally well with both teams. You’ll lead a team of 2-3 direct reports that has been through rapid growth.  Through this continued growth, this role requires an effective leader who drives cohesion, product vision, execution excellence, and excellent cross-functional relationships further advancing design’s strategic value within the organization.

The Senior Manager, Design System  at Collibra is responsible for:

  • Developing a tight collaborative working relationship with the Central Front End team, so that they adopt and grow the CDS 100%.
  • Ensuring that we have an effective, efficient process to migrate the older system to the new system and have a process to add new components.
  • Identifying critical user-centric metrics to showcase measurable results and build trust with Collibra’s leadership. Be data driven and drive for execution, yet don’t compromise on quality.
  • Managing, mentoring, and growing a team of UI and UX designers who work on the CDS.

You Have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, UX/UI Design, Computer Science, and or equivalent practical experience
  • 6+ years of experience in UX Design or related Design field
  • 4+ years of experience managing and leading design teams, including building a design system for a complex B2B product
  • A strong technical background with solid project management skills
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship management abilities

You Are:

  • A systems thinker, committed to developing and owning the Collibra Design System and its roadmap
  • Proficient at creating comprehensive metrics to report on how you advance towards implementation and adoption of the Design System
  • Customer-driven and passionate about helping our internal and external customers be successful
  • Able to work cross-functionally and work equally well with Engineers as with Designers.
  • A master at balancing short-term goals and long-term vision

Reporting to Collibra’s VP of Design, measures of success are:

  • Within your first month, you will study Collibra’s business strategy, and understand how the Product Design strategy connects to the larger picture. You will have an understanding of the state the Design System is in, and what needs to be done to achieve success.
  • Within your third month, you will have made close connections with relevant stakeholders, your direct reports, peers and skip levels in the Product & Engineering group, and with customers. The CDS group team has a charter, vision, mission and steps to achieve the mission.
  • Within your sixth month, you will have shown success by having made measurable advances of how we adopt and advance the CDS.  You will have customer data to support your decisions, and can show a before and after measurable difference.
