Job Summary
A Design Manager I for the Entertainment team responsible for leading the look & feel of our 10-foot entertainment experience and its suite of products.

You are an expert, versatile creative with a track record of success as a design leader balancing solid team management with impeccable creative execution in a fast-paced tech environment. You have demonstrated proficiency in visual design, web design, and mobile interface design. You engage in the design-thinking-process, appreciate UX strategy, and recognize how to leverage user-research and data to make informed & guided decisions. You lead by doing.

Job Description

As a Design Manager for the Entertainment team, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring a small team of designers while leading and executing on the creative vision for the 10-foot experience, primarily supporting the core entertainment experience. You will partner closely with Content Strategy, Engineering, Product, and Research to help your team deliver strategic design solutions with a sophisticated and modern visual approach, keeping within brand standards, focusing on the business goals, optimizing for peak performance, and keeping the customer top-of-mind.

We are looking for someone that has the unique ability to light a fire in those around them, inspire their team, and elevate the creative to new heights. You are a proactive thinker who will look ahead to help solve challenges and build strong partnerships to ensure alignment across teams. You like to be tactical in your work.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team on the day-to-day, provide feedback, guidance, and critique work
  • Work closely with PMs and stakeholder to ensure deliverable dates are realistic and can be met
  • Lead creative projects collaboratively from ideation, to testing, to delivery
  • Partner closely with prototyping to craft and improve experiences via emerging technologies
  • Sketch, prototype, create pixel-perfect interfaces and original, eye-catching visual designs
  • Create simple to complex, scalable visual patterns / systems that extend across the experience
  • Think holistically across experiences to ensure consistency & quality in the overall aesthetic and brand design
  • Help define and ensure best practices & standards are documented and utilized across the team
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of brand and product design guidelines
  • Confidently defend design strategy and rational used to build solutions in leadership reviews



Requirements:

  • Has a passion for technology and love for creativity - stays up to date on, trends, tools
  • Experience working with design systems, grids, accessibility standards, etc.
  • Expert skills in Figma, Adobe Suite, Keynote, Other related programs
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills
