We are looking for a hands-on, multi-hyphenate Design Director to join our creative team. The ideal candidate demonstrates an expertise in art direction and design and is responsible for developing bar-raising visual assets and content across all of our marketing communications, including lifestyle and product photography, motion graphics design, packaging, product illustrations, layouts, graphics and environmental design. You are passionate about customer-focused visual solutions. You are a problem-solver. You are comfortable working in collaboration with various disciplines across the organization to deliver effective marketing campaigns and product experiences. Most of all, you are a leader that can inspire great design thinking throughout the creative group and establish a clear vision for our visual identity.
Responsibilities
- Lead and build a library of best-in class, customer-first visual assets across a range of advertising, communications and product initiatives.
- Work cross-functionally with creative, marketing, product and Comms to develop the strategy, vision and concepts for visual assets.
- Partner with strategists, creative teams, product designers, motion designers and production teams and vendors to ensure flawless execution of the creative vision.
- Manages resources and projects with proactiveness to ensure the highest caliber of work is delivered on time.
- Lead with a bias towards action and communicate through making, prototyping and learning. Take complex content and information and turn them into simple visual expressions.
- Digest feedback and develop alternate creative solutions.
- Maintain consistent creative quality while applying brand guidelines.
Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in design and art direction at an agency client-side creative group.
- A portfolio of work showcasing a strong multidisciplinary approach to designs and visual solutions that spans digital, experiential, retail, product/service design and storytelling.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite. Photo retouching, motion graphics and 3D a plus.
- You are comfortable being a team of one, able to ideate creative concepts, illustrate your ideas and be hands on as you help drive projects to completion.
- A strong design eye with a passion for current design trends.
- Strong interpersonal resourcefulness and ability to cultivate cross-functional partnerships.
- Consistently deliver high-quality work on time and with attention to detail.
- A solid understanding of how creativity can achieve business objectives while still meeting and encouraging brand standards for aesthetic and communication quality.
- Optimism and excitement for your work, a love for the next big challenge, and a proven track record for taking ownership and driving results.
