The Challenge
Our brand balances empathy with audacity, pragmatism with possibility, intuition with insight. At the spiritual heart of the brand is our Creative Team. This team imagines, invents, and activates a range of work across product development, customer events, marketing campaigns, workspace design, website architecture, and that inspires, influences, and compels our employees, and our customers alike.
We are looking for a strategically-minded Creative Director—a leader-doer— with an insanely high bar, to help us both evolve and stay true to our brand roots and creative spirit. We are seeking someone who loves visual design, who can consistently inspire the team to set a new bar for what is expected from an enterprise tech company. A person whose own portfolio sets an extremely high bar, and who acts as an example that designers want to follow. Someone who shows up responsibly irreverent when it comes to corporate design, understands business and strategy, and has the gear to collaborate with all Qualtrics teams, from product and UX to people teams, to the executive suite. This role reports directly to the Chief Category and Brand Officer.
Expectations for Success
- Lead and deliver exceptional, world-class design work
- Be accountable for the creative excellence of the team’s work
- Develop original ideas for a variety of design elements and deliverables across digital campaigns, blogs, social media, print content, OOH, and events & experiences
- Lead a team of 10 graphic designers, copy writers and video producers, nurturing and amplifying their talent to create incredible work
- Chart a course for growing the team globally, to serve Qualtrics’ expanding business needs and to move our brand further forward on inclusivity
- Work collaboratively with teams across the business (e.g., growth, brand, content, product marketing, sales, HR, etc.) and across regions (AMR, EMEA, APJ) to develop creative briefs, build creative concepts, and execute campaigns & deliverables
- Partner with our CCBO, CEO, and COO to build the messaging, positioning, and visual identity of our growth products
- Ensure that design deliverables for all projects are “pixel-perfect” and never accept work that doesn’t raise the bar and align to our values
- Build relationships, brief, and manage select retained agency partners
- Partner with our digital team to test and optimize content that will drive 1) a better experience and 2) better business results
- Inspire complete confidence among internal business partners, earning trust to push the brand in even more bold creative directions
Qualifications & Requirements
- You have a portfolio of distinctive, smart, beautiful work from prior roles that you believe has made an important mark on the world
- You understand how design inspires people and drives behavior
- You roll up your sleeves to execute
- You respect the importance of sweating the details and getting the little things right
- You believe design is a force for good in the world
- You have deep empathy for people, and you have a knack for identifying, harnessing, and amplifying every team member’s creative potential
- You have experience working across channels and functions – print, web, email, advertising, merchandise
- You are able to make creative calls by virtue of excellent design acumen, strong business judgment, and steely resolve in challenging situations
- You have strong project management skills, and you take pride in creating exceptional work in the context of a work plan, key milestones, and deadlines
- You are a trusted leader who can provide insight, encouragement, and constructive direction to those working with you
- You constantly push boundaries, reject the status quo, and challenge the establishment.
