The Challenge

This team imagines, invents, and activates a range of work across events, campaigns, workspaces, websites, artifacts, and apps that inspires, influences, and compels our customers and employees alike.

We are looking for a highly creative and strategically-minded Creative Director—a leader-doer—to help us evolve while staying true to our brand and creative spirit. We are seeking someone who loves design, who can consistently inspire the team to “dream one size bigger,” and who can deliver exceptional design work. A person whose own portfolio sets an extremely high bar, and who acts as an example that designers want to follow. A leader with deep empathy who wants to listen to and learn from their team. Someone who’s constantly pushing the boundaries of creativity, excited by cross-functional collaboration, and enjoys being an ambassador of our brand and design system. This role reports to the Global Head of Brand.

Expectations for Success
  • Lead and deliver exceptional, world-class design work
  • Be accountable for the creative success of the team’s work 
  • Develop original ideas for a variety of design elements and deliverables across digital campaigns, blogs, social media, print content, OOH, and events & experiences 
  • Lead a team of 10 graphic designers and video producers, nurturing and amplifying their talent to create incredible work
  • Conceive of and implement a model for hybrid/remote work that empowers each individual to do their best work and enables the team to collectively thrive 
  • Chart a course for growing the team globally, to serve Qualtrics’ expanding business needs and to move our brand further forward on inclusivity
  • Work collaboratively with teams across the business (e.g., growth, brand, content, product marketing, sales, HR, etc.) and across regions (AMR, EMEA, APJ) to develop creative briefs, build creative concepts, and execute campaigns & deliverables
  • Work in partnership with our Executive Creative Director to continually innovate the experience of our brand
  • Present work to key stakeholders with clarity, conviction, and openness to feedback – and cultivate confidence in design team members to to the same
  • Operationalize and scale processes for intra- and inter-team collaboration and for completing design deliverables 
  • Make smart, intuitive connections between cultural, social, and design trends and what we can achieve with our brand and our identity system at Qualtrics
  • Ensure that design deliverables for all projects are “pixel-perfect”
  • Establish workflow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing, and retiring content
  • Manage relationships with retained agency partners
  • Partner with our digital team to dynamically test and optimize content that will drive ever-improving levels of engagement
  • Identify, brief, and oversee creative partners to fuel fresh content for our asset pipeline
  • Inspire complete confidence among internal business partners, earning trust to push the brand in even more bold creative directions
Qualifications & Requirements
  • You have a portfolio of distinctive, smart, beautiful work from prior roles that you believe has made an important mark on the world
  • You understand how design inspires people and drives behavior
  • You roll up your sleeves to execute
  • You respect the importance of sweating the details and getting the little things right 
  • You believe design is a force for good in the world
  • You have deep empathy for people, and you have a knack for identifying, harnessing, and amplifying every team member’s creative potential 
  • You have experience working across channels and functions – print, web, email, advertising, merchandise
  • You have built design systems and design teams at scale in prior roles
  • You are able to make creative calls by virtue of excellent design acumen, strong business judgment, and and unflappability in challenging situations
  • You have strong project management skills, and you take pride in creating top-notch work in the context of a work plan, key milestones, and deadlines 
  • You have an understanding of resourcing needs, and when to prioritize and delegate
  • You are a trusted leader who can provide insight, encouragement, and constructive direction to those working with you
  • You're constantly pushing boundaries
