Creative Director
Summary:
Evil Geniuses (EG) is looking for an experienced Creative Director with extensive brand, digital and social media experience to lead EG's Creative team, including the launch of EG's content studio. The Creative Director is responsible for both the artistic vision of the EG brand, as well as the development and execution of bold, engaging campaigns for EG's growing list of high-profile brand partners. You will lead an internal team of creatives and manage freelancers and outside agencies.
Your North star is helping lead the transformation of the EG brand through high-impact, story-driven creative that grows EG's fandom and drives business results for EG's partners, accelerating our mission to bring gaming entertainment experiences to the world. This role demands a creative storyteller with deep experience delivering culturally relevant campaigns on social and digital platforms, as well as through live experiential events; a passion for digital media and marketing; and the ability to inspire the team to flawlessly execute a project from end-to-end.
What You'll Do:
- Develop all creative elements of EG's global brand identity and expression with a focus on storytelling, visuals and experiences that (1) position EG as a gaming entertainment powerhouse, and (2) build brand love among players, fans, game publishers, industry, and brand partners
- to-end, from treatments to scripts to final edits to distribution, to bring the vision to life quickly; maintain accountability for the success of the campaign
- Forecast resourcing needs and work with key stakeholders to drive a schedule for projects while prioritizing and using resources effectively
- Obtain and allocate internal and external creative resources; inspire and direct those resources to elevate their creative output to meet the highest levels of creativity and innovation on time and within budget
- Effectively pitch and align senior leadership to new ideas and ensure creative strategy is aligned with and supports broader marketing and business initiatives
- Proactively work to solve problems and communicate to senior leadership
- Provide team leadership, mentorship and feedback that enables and inspires junior members of your Creative team to grow
What You'll Bring:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience at a global consumer brand (entertainment, media, music, lifestyle, esports, gaming, etc.), including developing and overseeing execution of branding and creative strategy; digital media, social or creative agency background preferred
- Proven ability to tell unique stories in thoughtful, unexpected ways across multiple platforms
- Strong portfolio of branding, editorial, photography and copy work; experience designing and launching brand merchandise, products and / or apparel a plus
- Eagerness to create boundary-pushing work
- Passion for culture and entertainment with a pulse on trends
- Experience in and deep understanding of content production (i.e. video, livestream, still photography, experiential), from concept to program launch
- Excellent creative brief writing and presentation skills - both in structure and content
- A minimum of 5 years people management experience
- Experience establishing creative organization structure, defining roles, and managing headcount
- Experience managing outside agencies and freelancers
- Experience building global campaigns for a variety of known brands / products
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment
- Impeccable written, verbal and presentation skills
- Strong and consistent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Team player with the ability to project confidence, a positive attitude, good judgment, and a solutions-oriented approach under pressure

- Personal interest in esports and gaming is a plus
Evil Geniuses currently requires all employees as a condition of employment to either be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or submit to regular testing. The CDC defines "fully vaccinated" as two weeks after the second dose for Pfizer and Moderna, and two weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson.
