About the role … 

As X By’s Branding and Design Lead, you’ll lead the charge on developing X By’s brand and that of each consumer brand that we launch. You will be part of a company that is redefining ecommerce, and your vision will be a key part of defining that transformation. 

 

As an early employee and part of the founding team, you will be a critical part of our company’s product direction and future. You will be building the bones of our company and making decisions that will control the trajectory of the company.

What you’ll be doing ...

  • Brand & Marketing Design: Serve as X By’s first in-house brand marketing designer, flexibly helping our small but mighty organization across brand and marketing design, both online and offline.
  • Broad Scope: This role will be responsible for a broad surface area. You’ll own the brand of X By and each creator brand we launch. For each creator brand, you will be responsible for the overall brand strategy, brand guidelines, and all aspects of creative direction.
  • Build for Scale: Help make our brand marketing operations more scalable, including templatizing materials and implementing scalable systems so assets are discoverable and well-organized.
  • Team: You’ll be a key member of design reviews, giving and receiving feedback with openness, supportive intentions, and a growth mindset.
  • Management: You’ll identify when it’s right to bring on an outside agency, know the right one to engage and manage them. Over time you’ll build and manage a team of in-house designers.

 

We’d love to talk if this sounds like you …

  • You’re someone who is able to understand many different brands and know how to design a look that is in line with their vision.
  • You have at least 4 years experience as a graphic designer, brand designer or visual designer and at least 2 years experience managing other designers.
  • Experience designing physical assets and digital graphics, and making these assets available for the rest of the company.
  • You’re comfortable working within Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom, Sketch, Canva, and Airtable and are a power user of your favorite design software.
  • The idea of joining a fast-moving organization with unlimited opportunities for growth and leadership gets you really excited.
  • You are flexible, impact oriented and have no problem rolling up your sleeves to get work done in a fast changing environment.
