Overview The Associate UX/UI Designer works alongside our engineers, product managers, business analysts, and business stakeholders to advocate for user experience and consistent design across applications. As an integral part of Digital Experience Team (DEX), the Associate UX/UI Designer will work alongside the team to help inspire cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused experiences that drive business outcomes by advocating UX methodologies and techniques. Primary Responsibilities Embedded within the product and engineering teams, the Associate UX/UI Designer will help facilitate design thinking workshops, carry out research plans, and design interactive and visual design solutions including wireframes, mock-up flows, and interactive prototypes. This critical team member supports the delivery of high-quality enterprise and customer facing products, rapidly and iteratively. As a key contributor of the team, they will help advocate for utilizing UX best practices. Essential Functions
- Drive UI/UX aspects of Product Development Team initiatives and goals
- Help to develop and define UX standards, research methods, best practices and processes and oversee their implementation
- Conduct competitive research, discovery, and usability research
- Co-facilitate research sessions to identify business, user, and technical requirements
- Effectively communicate design decisions to product and leadership teams
- Contribute to KeHE's design system
- Use modern UX methodologies and techniques to inspire design thinking and create supporting documentation including personas, customer journeys, task flows, site maps, prototypes/wireframes
- Stay current with UX, visual design, best practices, and front-end technologies
- Knowledge of UX strategy and design for web, mobile, and application design
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Interest in learning front-end web technologies, native interface guidelines, web services, and APIs
- Desire to work in a fast-paced iterative environment
- Acts with empathy and curiosity; listens and seeks to understand
- Passionate mindset with positive intent
- Collaborative team environment and must be able to work well with others
- Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Design (Graphic, Interaction, Visual, and Digital), Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Information Architecture, Marketing, or related UX field is preferred
- Portfolio of school projects is requested
- Strong technical understanding with design tools such as Axure, Sketch, Invision, Zeplin, and Adobe Creative Suite (We use Sketch and Invision.)
