Shelf Engine is searching for a talented Art Director to join our growing marketing team and report directly to our Head of Marketing. In this role, you will work with multiple teams across functions to elevate and evolve our overall design and branding standards as we become a world-class company. Key objectives in this role are to help Shelf Engine create effective digital marketing campaigns, help produce and refine marketing assets, and continuously improve the UX/UI of our website. This is a job for a highly-skilled designer who is comfortable with illustration, layout design, graphic design, and photo composition. Although not a requirement, motion graphics experience is highly valued.

This position is based in Seattle, WA or remote. 

As an Art Director at Shelf Engine, you will:

  • Embrace our company principles through inclusive, authentically kind, and empathetic interactions with our team and our customers
  • Lead the design function within the marketing team
  • Use design to amplify key messages
  • Dissect complex concepts and information to design compelling, digestible visuals
  • Create original media that communicates the desired feeling or message in a clear, engaging, and unified way
  • Foster design thinking grounded in customer research and analytics
  • Contribute to UX/UI development, including designing assets and partnering on A/B testing of different approaches to drive conversion
  • Lead strategy and execution of graphic assets for monthly and evergreen marketing campaigns, pitch decks, landing pages, digital ads, social media, email outreach, sales collateral, etc.)

And here’s what we think would make a great Art Director:

  • 4 - 6 years of demonstrated success in an art production role 
  • Expert knowledge of illustration and digital production using the Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
  • Strong visual, graphic, and typography design skills with layout experience
  • Ability to balance multiple product streams, prioritize, and work well in a fast-moving environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to clearly communicate design concepts and advocate a point of view
  • Experience working in a growth-stage business and/or B2B marketing environment
  • Illustration, photography, and motion graphics capabilities are a plus
  • Creative agency experience is an advantage
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer
