The Main Campus Emergency Department provides top-quality care to patients 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Caregivers treat over 61,000 adult and pediatric patients annually, providing a critical link to healthcare for our community, the region, and the world (through Cleveland Clinic Critical Care Transport). This is a second shift supervisor role and will lead Main Campus ED and remote registration teams. This is 24/7 operations with on-call expectations. Supervisor should be experienced in patient registration and expected to be in staffing on occasion.

 

Schedule is Monday - Friday 2p-10:30p with 2 works from home days per month or 4 days 12p-10:30p (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) with no work from home days per month. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Supervise caregivers in daily operations.  

  • Maintain staffing levels.  

  • Approve and schedule paid time off and leave requests.  

  • Provide leadership and training.  

  • Coordinate and provide orientation and education.  

  • Analyze workflow and procedures.  

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve procedures, processes, speed, quality and effectiveness.  

  • Ensure cross coverage.  

  • Develop an effective work team.  

  • Encourage and support morale building activities.  

  • Communicate with caregivers and provide orientation on policies.  

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Associate’s Degree 

  • 3 years of related supervisory experience 

  • OR High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of experience may substitute the work experience and education requirements 

  • OR Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year of experience may substitute the work requirement.  

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree 

  • Healthcare experience in a large organization 

  • Call center experience is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods

  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information

  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system

  • In some locations, ability to transport up to 25 pounds 

  • May require the ability to operate various types of powered material handling equipment.
