Fort Payne, AlabamaJob Summary:The Finance Manager, DC Operations, works closely with the Distribution Director to guide financial performance and analysis, crucially supporting the achievement of key distribution KPIs. This role not only leads strategic initiatives and manages operational functions but also plays a significant part in advancing business strategies throughout the organization. By ensuring data integrity and fostering continuous improvement, the Finance Manager, DC Operations, collaborates with the Distribution Director and cross-functional teams on essential activities such as target setting, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, labor planning, and analytical support. These efforts collectively drive the Distribution team's success.
Responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of key financial metrics. 
  • Analyze and measure operational performance to identify improvement opportunities. 
  • Offer financial insights that drive future performance, emphasizing cost savings, profitability risks, and optimization opportunities. 
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting. 
  • Partner with leadership teams to ensure the Distribution Center (DC) has effective work plans, staffing levels, shift structures, and resources to meet flow requirements and achieve business goals. 
  • Create production and staffing plans for the distribution center, adjusting production needs daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonally. 
  • Forecast labor, supplies, and equipment requirements to support production plans. 
  • Utilize forecasting tools to develop and adjust work plans across departments. 
  • Manage Distribution accounts payable and requisition processes, including review and approval. 
  • Prepare quarterly financial review decks for broader publication. 
  • Prepare financial review decks for presentations to the CFO. 
  • Facilitate monthly spend reviews at the departmental level (e.g., facilities, HR, IT) and reforecast under the guidance of department leaders. 
  • Prepare a watermark tool to determine minimum demand for roles within the DC for line employees. 
  • Produce weekly P&L updates, including actuals and publication. 
  • Prepare and maintain a weekly headcount planning and forecasting tool. 
  • Oversee the cycle counting process and maintain integrity in reporting results. 

Education and Requirements: 

  • Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting. 
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, controlling, and/or accounting functions  
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams. 
  • 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits). Demonstrated experience leading change management efforts affecting safety and environmental practices is a plus.  
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP). 
  • Must possess well developed speaking and writing skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of associates and leaders
