Job Description J.P. Morgan Chase Asset & Wealth Management is prioritizing becoming a data-driven organization that uses analytic tools and AI/ML models to drive decision-making that results in innovative investment products and valuable insights for our clients.
The Chief Data Office pays a key role in driving this transformation by partnering with business stakeholders and technology to define and implement data strategy. We are looking for individuals who possess a combination of business knowledge, technical skills, and people skills to change.
As a member of the Global Investment Data Team, you will be on the front lines of this transformation. You will partner closely with portfolio managers, traders, research analysts, data scientists, and other investment professionals to build market leading data management capabilities that will allow us to outperform our competitors and deliver better client outcomes.
The Investment Data team is a new and growing part of the Chief Data Office and is responsible for managing data assets related to the analysis and execution of investment opportunities. As the Global Fixed Income Data Lead you will be the key change agent for data strategy in this business area with a special emphasis on our Investment Platform re-engineering program.
Core Responsibilities

• Represent the Chief Data Office on Data Domain Product Cabinets
• Serve as advocate and Subject Matter Expert for the business area and data domains you represent for Data Strategy Planning and Coordination
• Oversee Data Infrastructure and Processes
• Curate and Govern domain data models and other relevant meta-data used to support Data Literacy, Discovery, and Accessibility programs
• Partner with Technology and the Data Architecture team on design of data models and strategic data interfaces
• Own the strategic roadmap for data domains in your area and communicate progress
• Partner with business stakeholders and technology to support and accelerate delivery of advanced data analysis capabilities
• Assess and quantify metrics for data quality to drive continuous improvement and track progress

Key Competencies

• Results-oriented, with a willingness to commit to delivery and take charge
• Strong problem-solving abilities, with the ability to distil complex challenges to easy to implement solutions
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, preferably with a proven track record of coordinating across multiple stakeholders
• Existing experience or a strong interest in building innovative data analysis solutions using a mixture of Python, Alteryx, Tableau etc.
• Structured approach to project management, with a robust approach to identifying risks, issues and dependencies
• Good understanding of Investment Management business processes including Research, Portfolio Management, Guideline Compliance and Trading; with a solid understanding of the key data sets that underpin these processes
• Knowledge of types of data that are commonly communicated to Institutional and Retail clients, and the processes that support the corresponding generation of reports and website updates
