The VP of Data Strategy is a critical role in our organization that bridges the gap between business, product, and data to enable us to provide value to our customers in elevating their businesses.  The priority will always be what is best for Helium 10’s customers.  You must be a customer centric leader that is accountable for the end-to-end data stack by leading and mentoring teams to create processes, systems, tools, and capabilities of enablement through Data Analytics, Data Science, and Data Engineering.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Partner with product managers and leadership team members to develop data-driven business strategies and solutions
• Provide guidance and thought leadership on analytical best practices to team members and business partners
• Transform complex analyses into compelling, easy-to-understand deliverables
• Lead and manage multiple departments across the data stack including Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Science, and Data Engineering
• Engage in research and development efforts of advancing product-critical computer vision and machine learning solutions
• Develop and enforce best practices for big data, data integrations, and discovery
• Negotiate partnerships and data pricing while discerning build vs buy

Job Requirements:

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a highly quantitative field or equivalent professional experience
• Experience building embedded data analysts teams, data engineering pipeline architectures, and data science teams from the ground up
• Experience scaling teams from early startup to enterprise
• Experience defining strategy, goals, KPIs/OKRs for data teams as part of larger organization’s goals
• Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholders across all levels of an organization
• Experience with terabyte sized datasets, and discovering hidden patterns using data visualization
• Experience with eCommerce strategies, metrics, and data sources
• Proven thought leadership and track record of translating greenfield ideas into productionized systems
• Expertise in Snowflake, Redshift, and S3 for data lakes/lake houses with Looker or Tableau for visualization
• Experience working with remote global team members
