Use insightful analysis to redefine how health insurance performance is measured. Lead Bind in its efforts to continue to develop as a data-driven organization. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead Bind's continued development of a company-wide data driven culture, including high-level data literacy and the use of data as a routine part of Bind's decision-making processes
  • Develop and execute diagnostic methods and tools to gain a deep understanding of consumer's behavior under traditional and Bind plans
  • Continue to evolve data governance processes and quality controls to ensure consistency and accuracy through collaboration with data engineering and other functions
  • Work closely with Bind's prospects and customers to help them understand the nature of Bind's product offerings and to identify opportunities to improve plan performance
  • Design and support the team in executing measurement plans by product feature as well as conduct exploratory data analyses to help better understand trends and behavior that highlight Bind's value and opportunities within these markets
  • Manage the team to develop and maintain business reporting and intelligence dashboards to uncover actionable insights for internal teams
  • Maintain a deep understanding of analytics tools and techniques and the ability to map those to Bind's marketplace dynamics
  • Lead analytics-related discussions with key stakeholders and leadership team
  • Produce technical, internal, and customer-focused reports using state-of-the art tools for visualization, mapping, and presentation, including both static and interactive materials in both print and digital formats.
  • Communicate Bind's capabilities and insights from data analysis and through effective data visualization, reporting, and story telling
  • Manage the business's external data and analytics partners
  • Define and drive business value through the utilization of data assets and analytics
  • Drive education and evangelization of data throughout Bind and externally as needed by communicating the vision and key use case potential of data insights. Democratize data within the organization.
  • Play a strategic role with continuously improving the company's data analysis model and assets to deliver industry-leading performance and insights
  • Ensure quality and integrity of the insights and story from the data analysis models and how those insights align with Bind's overall story

Required Qualifications:

  • Understanding of probability and statistics, data management, and visualization techniques
  • Understanding of healthcare data and healthcare opportunities
  • A knack for statistical analysis and passion to leverage these tools to provide insights and capabilities to meet business goals
  • Track record of thought leadership in the employee benefits consulting community and with large employers
  • Success building and leading high-performing analytics teams through the successful delivery of advanced quantitative analyses and statistical modeling that measure impact of business performance
  • Success in articulating a vision and then building processes, structures, and teams to support that vision
  • Ability to map business problems to possibilities for data insights and solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a highly dynamic environment, strong problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education or commensurate experience in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, health services research, economics, or any other related quantitative field
  • Knowledge and experience in a health plan environment
  • Ability to identify key opportunities for action in an innovating environment that includes ambiguity and change
  • Ability to build a collaborative culture and relationships across the organization and with external strategic partners
  • Ability to influence course of action when others are directly accountable for outcomes
  • Ability to travel to meet the needs of the role

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $134,200 to $257,700. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $134,200 to $257,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
