Job Description

BEHOLD! Caesars Digital represents online businesses spanning casino, poker, and sports betting across a variety of brands. The Trading Data Analyst will partner with stakeholders within the Trading organization to drive margin, analyze market performance, identify industry trends, segment customers, perform ad-hoc analysis, and create standardized reporting in support of the operations. The ideal candidate will help identify opportunities to grow these business units and work with clients to implement findings and best practices across the Caesars Digital Group.
What You Will Do:

  • Conduct objective, rigorous analytics to help the business improve profitability, operational processes, and offering with minimal guidance from management - e.g., identification and evaluation of trading opportunities, resource optimization, competitive market dynamics, customer behavior, and pricing optimization
  • Prepare standardized reporting on various operations to provide senior leaders visibility into performance trends
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses including, but not limited to, competition, event market performance, competitive intelligence, financial modeling, forecasting & statistical analysis, database development, budgeting, etc.
  • Synthesize large amounts of data into actionable recommendations and presentations for management review
  • Collaborate with fellow analysts to refine assumptions, ensure accuracy of results, and create holistic view of performance
  • Communicate analyses, findings, conclusions, and recommendations to all relevant business partners, and actively assist in the implementation of accepted recommendations
  • Source interesting data (query 1st party data, purchase licensed data and/or scrape public sources)
  • Engineer features through creative variable transformation techniques
  • Assist in model product development with detailed documentation for operational execution
  • Participate actively in discussions with senior clients, and assist in driving the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic projects from within all segments of the Trading organization
  • Use technology (e.g., SQL, R, Tableau, Google BigQuery, Python) to develop analytics and reporting tools; take an active role in integrating new technologies and tools into the department's processes. Experienced in working in both Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Propose and implement improvements that drive material efficiencies in processes and reporting
  • Lead projects that require input from other Analytics team members; contribute to cross-Analytics team projects
  • Collaborate with domain experts to identify model enhancement opportunities and stress test models
  • Collaborate with data science teams to identify model enhancement opportunities
  • Research latest technologies and keep up with industry best practices in trading and sports betting offerings
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses


We You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a top-tier program in one of the following areas or in an equivalent technical field: Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science
  • Strong analytical skills including, but not exclusive to, data aggregation/manipulation, financial modeling, statistical analytics, forecasting, optimization, etc.
  • Experience working with large datasets; proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and proven experience manipulating data, developing insights, and communicating findings
  • Strong communication skills, including capacity to distill complex ideas and analyses into clear and tangible recommendations that drive decision making
  • Intellectual curiosity and willingness to quickly learn relevant database applications and software, as well as industry-specific terminology and dynamics
  • Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously at various stages of development
  • Contribute to a culture dedicated to telling the truth through data, by demonstrating the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognizing standards required by a regulated business
  • Must possess very strong interpersonal, communication and consensus building skills; willing to work on developing and managing key relationships across the organization.
  • Must be able to work in a deadline-oriented environment, ensuring decisions and management communication is occurring in a timely fashion across all geographical areas of operations
  • Ability to quickly understand business problems and how they may be solved


Preferred Skills:

  • Graduate Degree in one of the following areas or in an equivalent technical field: Business, Economics, Mathematics/Statistics, Hotel Management
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: SQL, R, VBA, SAS, Python
  • Experience with web-based data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI
  • Prior experience in the gaming/hospitality/sports betting industry
