Job summary
We're looking for a Technology Business Management Analyst to join our team, which supports several capabilities in use by the Red Hat IT teams, including IT Planning and Forecasting, IT Cost Transparency, Cloudability, and IT Showback teams. In this role, you will help us to be the trusted source for understanding technology cost and consumption, enabling the business and IT to discover insights and generate value. You will be a subject matter expert in one or more of the capabilities supported by the Apptio products. You will review and test new functionality released by Apptio, evaluate where they align with Red Hat IT, and develop training and communication plans for end users. As a Technology Business Management Analyst, you will collaborate closely with IT and finance associates at all levels within the organization. You'll understand enterprise and departmental problems and goals, analyze stakeholder needs and solutions, and devise strategies to guide change. You'll gather and analyze information in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with IT service, product, and application owners to understand current challenges and opportunities to manage cost and deliver solutions to the business
  • Manage and guide projects to develop IT services, products, and application cost allocation models, defining and assessing data requirements and sources, allocation methods, and determining appropriate level of precision
  • Manage ongoing relationships with key stakeholders to ensure satisfaction with project outcomes
  • Identify gaps and provide technical expertise in developing portfolio reviews by service, product, and Applications
  • Prepare and communicate reports, presentations, project plan, and roadmap documents
  • Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems
  • Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems and other post-implementation support
  • Lead cross-functional teams to address technology business management (TBM) offering or system issues
  • Lead design sessions in prototyping new or proposed systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow


Required skills

  • Experience with Apptio Cost Transparency R12
  • Knowledge of IT services and financial management processes and best practices like budgeting and forecasting, cost allocations, capital and operating expense handling, program portfolio management, and application and infrastructure support
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively with multiple levels of management and associates across the organization
  • High or expert-level skills and experience with formulaic logic, e.g., if statements, vlookup, hlookup, pivot tables, and macros in Microsoft Excel
  • Skilled at working with large data sets and quickly detecting and resolving data-related issues
  • Experience with business and technical analysis skills and knowledge of IT environments to tackle complex issues and promote best practices
  • Skilled at completing technical design via iterative mockups
  • Great attention to detail; good communication and presentation skills
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Solid leadership skills; ability to motivate and inspire organizations, individuals, and teams to deliver desired results
