Banking Technology supports technology for 3 parts of the Banking business under CIB, namely Global Investment Banking (GIB), Global Corporate Banking (GCB), and Treasury Services (TS). GIB works with a broad range of issuer clients, including corporations, institutions and governments, and provides comprehensive strategic advice, capital raising and risk management expertise. GCB manages the firm's relationships with large corporations, financial institutions and public sector organizations globally to help our clients meet their objectives and challenges in financing, risk management, working capital, cash management and investments. TS delivers cash management, trade, liquidity, commercial card and escrow services that resolve the working capital and efficiency challenges treasury professionals face today.

This is a Technical Business Analyst role within the GIB / GCB Technology team. You will join an inspiring and curious team of business analysts defining and designing our core deal lifecycle management platform, working with a team delivering a world-class technology solution, providing deal lifecycle efficiencies, analytics, business intelligence & controls for the world's #1 investment banking franchise, impacting thousands of users and generating $billions of revenue annually. You'll be working with and sharing ideas, information, and innovation with our global team; we are based predominantly in Houston, NYC, and London but also maintain a presence in Mumbai, and the businesses we support span the globe. Travel is not, however, required for this role.
Responsibilities

  • Solid understanding of Domain Driven Design (DDD) including, but not limited to, context maps, context cards, etc.
    • Basic understanding of microserivces, data management and anti-corruption layers (ACLs)
  • Creation of the activity flow diagrams for different use cases, including clear segregation of functionality based on the context
  • Creation of user stories with very clear description and greater level of detail including input and output fields, all the use cases (positive and negative), leveraging techniques like spec by example, Gherkin syntax, or other structured specification approaches
  • Review functional solution designs with Architects and collaborating with engineering teams to agree API's, interactions etc. where required
  • Detailed understanding & experience of end-to-end software development frameworks like Agile, Scrum
  • Mapping functional requirements to components to enable common solution design across the platform.
  • Engagement with Product Owner to ensure that requirements are sufficiently communicated to enable technical design, estimation and build:
    • Verification that use cases cover identified flows
    • Gap analysis of changes required


Interested? This is what you should have:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of experience in a business analyst or equivalent role with 5 years involvement in understanding business requirements
  • Hands on experience in the functional design of complex enterprise systems
  • Basic understanding of SQL queries and Microsoft products (viz, excel, visio, word and powerpoint)
  • Experience in managing senior business stakeholders in global context
  • Track record in working with stakeholders in different geographies
  • A commercial mind-set to deliver short, medium and long term strategies to achieve sustained efficiency; an innovative thought process; focus on simplification;

  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
