Technical Analyst- Distribution Operations ( 2 pm-10 pm PST)

The Technical Operations Department at Disney Streaming Services consists of agile and responsive teams of analysts that perform the daily processes and procedures of our live and on-demand streaming video products. The department's responsibilities consist of round-the-clock support for these products, ensuring proper functionality across all platforms.
The Technical Operations Distribution team works alongside delivery and infrastructure engineers to gain insight and knowledge on how the distribution of media works. This includes what they monitor and how the environment is built, in an effort to gain deeper operational knowledge that can be documented and handed off to the day-to-day Media Operations team. In addition, we function as the DevOps for these teams and carry out certain roles and responsibilities on their behalf such as weighing traffic distribution, triaging, cache maintenance and being Tier 1 on-call support.
Responsibilities :
- Adopt new procedural changes across backend services via documentation for day to day operations
- Identifying and diagnosing issues while monitoring front end product performance
- In depth Analysis of delivery path health (Vendor, Region, Host)
- Creation and Management of Performance Alerts and Dashboards
- Involvement in the planning and development of distribution expansion
- Point of contact for issue discussion and troubleshooting with CDN Vendors
- Gain knowledge of backend services by working directly with respective team members on a daily basis
- Support the foundational knowledge growth of Entry Level Technical Analysts
- Communicate with internal teams to identify and implement creative and technical requirements of new campaigns.
Live Support - Read services dashboards to identify issues and trends impacting customers
Capture data for internal planning and after major events to provide postmortem analysis.
Assist Delivery Engineers in day to day tasks
Basic Qualifications :
- 2 or more years of progressively complex related experience within Streaming/Digital Media.
- Basic understanding of http
- Experience in an operations setting either live or on demand
- Prior Involvement with CDN Vendors and media delivery encouraged
- BA/BS or equivalent experience required.
- Operates within the context of defined procedures.
- Effectively resolves problems and roadblocks as they occur.
