Provides leadership and oversight to the Data Operations team. Leads efforts to gather, assess, audit, and ensure accuracy of merchandising data, including data about costs, product characteristic, organic versus conventional, etc. Ensures provision of accurate, timely, relevant, and actionable information and analysis to affect operational decisions and process improvement. Oversees data system governance and data collection, storage, and distribution systems.

Job Summary:

Leads the Master Data team in daily duties, training, process improvement and execution of all relevant tasks. This position is responsible for ensuring that our master data is always complete and accurate. This position requires extensive interaction with the Global Data Operations team and its business partners. Ability to innovate, grasp and apply concepts, understand data requirements of business and interact effectively with business partners to create effective solutions. A strong understanding of all relevant systems functionality is also required.

This position is based in Austin, Texas.

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for accurate hosting of all master data in accordance with maintenance schedules and policies.
  • Responsible for identifying sources of data and incorporating new data needs into existing processes
  • Ensures attribution is created and hosted consistent with defined governance and clear ownership
  • Day to day oversight of Master Data team including individual performance and administrative duties
  • Oversees team training and individual development plans
  • Partners with Regional & Global teams to implement new processes and address identified issues
  • Ensures staffing coverage levels and service level agreements are adhered to
  • Makes decisions regarding data flow based on established guidelines
  • Proficient knowledge of hosting & downstream systems including but not limited to: IRMA, PeopleSoft, DVO, VIP, Data Monster, eStore & SLAW and Amazon catalog
  • Subject matter expert on R10/SCO store functionality and IRMA integration
  • Reviews and updates leadership regarding projects and tasks, escalates as necessary
  • Effectively communicates with multiple regions, ensuring accurate and efficient use of shared systems, addressing process issues with regions as necessary
  • Attends meetings as scheduled & train teams on hosting system procedures for Store, Regional and/or Global Purchasing team use.
  • Other related duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Effective leader of a team of specialists and senior specialists responsible for the acquisition and maintenance of Master Data
  • Ability to understand business partners’ goals and capabilities in order to make informed proposals and decisions to effectively support them
  • Able to prioritize effectively and delegate responsibilities to direct reports and business partners, where necessary
  • Capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner
  • Ability to incorporate new concepts and lead change in the organization
  • Relevant software knowledge and technical aptitude
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and analyze item, item/category, sales and pricing data.
  • Ability to effectively manage large volumes of information according to defined parameters and schedules
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret and analyze instructions, financial reports, purchase orders, program plans and revisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one interaction, meeting/group participation/presentation situations involving team members, business partners and leadership.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as required
  • Requires High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant functional experience
