We are looking for a senior tableau developer with admin experience to work with the business and IT teams. The responsibilities of a tableau developer include creating tableau solutions and perform admin activities.
What you will be doing
To be successful as a senior tableau developer/admin, you should have a broad understanding of the business technology landscape, the ability to design reports, and strong analytical skills. The ideal candidate will enjoy working as a member of a team and effectively work with different technical teams to pull together a unified approach to managing BI application.
Core Responsibilities:
Admin

  • System Administration (includes site creation, server maintenance/Upgrades/patches).
  • Change management including software, hardware upgrades, patches
  • Monitor server activity/usage statistics to identify possible performance issues/enhancements
  • Create/Manage Groups, Workbooks and Projects, Database Views, Data Sources and Data Connections.
  • Manage and support migration of objects (dimensions, measures, hierarchies, reports, workbooks, dashboards), from development to production environments.
  • Provide appropriate training and support to business users on the use of Tableau interactive web reports, and Tableau Desktop.
  • Partner with business to design tableau KPI scorecards dashboards.
  • Assist in the identification and migration of data sources to Tableau server.
  • Assist in development of workbooks and dashboards to support business initiatives.
  • Develop and document standards/best practices for development and administration of the Tableau platform.
  • Work closely with technical architects, data and software engineers to ensure optimal application and data database/warehouse design to support reporting requirements.


Development

  • Developing, maintaining, and managing advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards and other BI solutions.
  • Performing and documenting data analysis, data validation, and data mapping/design.
  • Reviewing and improving existing systems and collaborating with teams to integrate new systems.
  • Conducting unit tests and developing database queries to analyze the effects and troubleshoot any issues.


What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science or Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training or work experience
  • Relevant work experience, both in Tableau administration and development
  • A solid understanding of SQL, rational databases, and normalization.
  • Proficiency in use of query and reporting analysis tools.
  • Competency in Excel (macros, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Extensive experience in developing, maintaining and managing Tableau driven dashboards & analytics and working knowledge of Tableau administration/architecture. Strong client facing communication skills
  • Experience with BI Infrastructure Build & Maintenance & Standards. User Management & Change Management for BI/ETL. Monitoring & Tuning & Troubleshooting- Working with the platform support teams to constantly Monitor, Tune & Optimize performance (both system and application).
  • Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines leveraging model driven design-based tools and techniques including conceptual solution component models, business process models, use cases, etc.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team and time management skills
  • Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take
  • Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completed
  • Positive outlook, strong work ethic and responsive to internal and external customers and contacts
  • Willingly and successfully fulfills the role of teacher, mentor and coach


Any experience with other BI tools like WebFOCUS, Superset, Snowflake would be a huge plus, but not required.
