Candidate will be responsible for enhancing and developing an enterprise class monitoring environment, responsible for critical business applications including SAP, PLM, Customer/Supplier Portal etc. Responsibilities include system architecture, operational metrics, technology roadmaps, and strategy.

This role will require strong cross-department collaboration with architects, application and infrastructure leads, software / hardware developers, and business process owners. The successful candidate must have demonstrated success in troubleshooting business critical issues, driving toward technical solutions and decisions at the organizational level, and managing vendors to SLAs and business expectations. The ability to communicate service status with executive leaders as well as technical workings will be essential in this role.

This position can be located remotely anywhere in the domestic US with east coast preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage/update/enhance monitoring tools to help reduce meant time to repair (MTTR)
  • Embed continuous improvement process with customer, team, and vendors to deliver a high-quality service
  • Meet with industry experts to assess solutions and best practices
  • Report on project and operations status to key stakeholders


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology related field
  • Knowledge of ITIL and or Lean manufacturing tools and methodologies
  • 5+ years of experience with systems engineering and/or System administration (including but not limited to Storage, Operating systems, application support, servers, network)
  • 2+ years of experience with log analysis, system capacity planning, and analyzing key performance indicators (KPI) for troubleshooting on desktops and servers
  • 1+ years of experience with the following tools: Aternity, Nagios, Dynatrace, Splunk Core/ITSI, SolarWinds, DataDog, etc.
  • Gather customer application data and diagrams, leverage expertise in recommending baseline monitoring thresholds, recommend performance monitoring KPIs and SLAs, and provide monitoring tool infrastructure recommendations
  • Preferred experience with at least one of the following:
    • Experience with Aternity signatures, EUM, performance monitoring tool alerts, dashboards, or data trend analysis in a monitoring tool
    • Experience configuring and maintaining a SolarWinds environment, specifically around the monitoring of Network equipment
    • Experience configuring monitors and developing scripts to be used with Nagios to look for problems
    • Experience setting up application monitoring in Dynatrace. Working with web developers, application administrators, business analysts to find and solve application issues.
  • Experience with gathering and organizing large amounts of data to use for instrumentation into an Enterprise monitoring solution
  • Experience with creating technical documentation and training technical people on how to utilize tools
  • Ability to provide monitoring tool infrastructure recommendations
  • Knowledge of ITIL and/or Lean manufacturing tools and methodologies
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with technical and non-technical personnel
    Ability to build rapport with customers at all levels inside and outside the corporation, and across regions
  • Superior Organizational and Project Management Skills
  • Negotiation and Analytical skills to make sound business decisions
