The Amherst Residential platform provides a comprehensive suite of services to facilitate the ownership of single family rental properties, including property management services, asset level financing and asset management services. Internship Program Outline: What's in it for you!
The Asset Management Internship will be a 10-week immersive program where students will gain real-world real estate and finance experience in our Asset Management team within Amherst Residential.
You will work alongside Analysts on our Expense & Revenue teams who will mentor and provide training in daily operations of our single family investment properties, monthly and quarterly analysis on expense related costs, monitoring daily activity of leasing pipelines and perform complex analyses on our revenue goals.
Internship Program Hours: Monday-Friday 9-5 pm
Responsibilities:
Work with Expense team to understand and monitor daily flow of costs related to the initial renovation of single family rental homes
Work with Revenue team monitoring the daily activity of our leasing pipeline of single family rentals across our portfolios
Possesses an understanding of repair scopes as they pertain to individual investor goals
Understands the economic impact of costs as they relate to an asset’s net operating income and rent potential
Assist Analysts in portfolio-wide financial analyses focusing on expense management
Ad hoc analysis projects supporting managers requests
Internship Requirements:
Currently a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting or similar field
Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher
Microsoft Office experience including Excel
Able to combine analytical thinking, high standards and collaboration with a professional manner
Strong verbal and written skills to communicate effectively with internal and external professionals
Ability to understand how strategic decisions and operational actions affect financial results
Motivation and a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible
