Strategy & Planning Leader, North America
Job Description
The role of Senior Vice President, Strategy & Planning, North America will work in close partnership with the North America, G13 & BASES President and senior business leaders that are responsible for different line of business by facilitating the identification of growth drivers and challenges across the organization and providing strategic thought partnership and project management on a broad range of topics. In addition, this person will evaluate organic and inorganic strategic opportunities for North America, helping to achieve growth, differentiation, and transformation.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities Include:
Develop and drive strategic initiatives: Expand coverage of retail, eCommerce, analytics and Meta Data. Partner with business leaders to support development of business strategies including market entry, growth, and portfolio strategies. Collaborate with the executive committee and key business leaders to develop strategic priorities and plans.
M&A Strategy: Develop inorganic strategies. Identify target opportunities, cultivate potential acquisition targets, and engage with external parties to gain market knowledge, analyze trends, and support the execute of inorganic growth strategies for North America, G13 and BASES.
Enterprise strategic planning: Manage & coordinate North America + G13 process to refresh the rolling 3-year plan and strategic initiatives to move NielsenIQ forward in its transformation.
Ad-hoc strategic projects: Support the North America, G13 & BASES President in a variety of special projects that may include but are not limited to; select business initiatives and/or building/presenting decks for the NielsenIQ Leadership team.
Chief of Staff to the North America President : Coordinate North America President’s Calendar, engagement with NIQ’s Executive Committee and our Board of Directors. Coordinate North America Leadership team agenda,
INTERFACES WITH:
This role reports to the President, North America, G13 & BASES. This individual will also work closely with other senior leaders within the organization to execute on the most critical strategic initiatives.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
Strategy Consulting Experience: The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years post MBA strategy experience from a top tier strategy consulting firm.
Relevant Industry Experience: The ideal candidate will have had exposure to consumer packaged goods, retail, or information services industries.
Relevant Functional Experience: Experience across organic and inorganic growth strategy projects is required.
Structured and Logical Thinking: The ability to dissect a problem into an organized approach and quickly form a hypothesis against which to run test analyses as well as the ability to present complex concepts/ideas in concise, easy-to-understand terms is critical.
Analytical Rigor: Analytical, methodical, and rigorous approach; ability to independently take apart complex business issues, perform research and analyses, synthesize conclusions into a value-maximizing business strategy.
Executive Presence: The candidate will have a strong executive presence and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
Project Management: The candidate should be able to mobilize plans around key workstreams and drive execution in a strategic manner and provide comprehensive updates to senior leaders on status of integration, challenges, and successes

Effective interpersonal and communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate at the CEO level, lead multi-discipline teams, and influence key stake holders
High degree of initiative and desire to work in a fast past and dynamic environment
Capable of moving past barriers, being self-directed/motivated
Ability to deal with ambiguity and to handle multiple constituencies/priorities with minimal supervision
