Humana's Strategy Management Office (SMO) is part of the Office of the Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer, which is Humana's end-to-end strategic growth enablement function. The Office is composed of several teams which collectively own setting the strategic direction for the company, executing M&A/Joint Ventures/Strategic partnerships/venture investments, managing the execution of the strategy, and integrating assets and driving value capture.

The SMO's mission is to accelerate the attainment of Humana's enterprise strategy through strategy alignment, management consulting, reporting and analysis, and organizational change management. The SMO has led multiple company-wide efforts, including creation and launch of the Balanced Scorecard, launch and enterprise adoption of OKRs, and creation of a Shared-Success model for highly inter-related initiatives.

The SMO is seeking high potential leaders looking to accelerate their career development and contribute to driving disruption in the health care industry. This role is designed to prepare leaders for accelerated and expanded Humana roles in a relatively short period of time.

Responsibilities

The Corporate Strategy Analyst engages with various levels of leaders to gather insights into strategic outcomes progress and opportunities to accelerate. Frequently supports the creation of high-impact presentations that enable organizational change. Prepares and structures data to provide high-level recommendations for senior leaders. May lead internal projects, process improvement, or strategy-level reporting and analytics initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leverage communication and presentation skills to build PowerPoint decks that create awareness, drive debate, and inform decision making among Humana's top leaders
  • Manage small and medium scale projects with limited supervision
  • Support Directors and Leads on large scale initiatives and deliverables



Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated oral, written, and visual business communication skills
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills
  • Self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, working independently and proactively asking for input from teammates and internal clients
  • Committed to professional and personal growth



Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of internal or external consulting, project management, and/or data/business analysis experience
  • Experience with Power BI, Workboard, or Planview Enterprise One
  • MBA or other graduate level relevant degrees (e.g. MPH, MFA, Data Science, Data Analytics, etc.)
  • Healthcare industry experience



Additional Information

Vaccine Policy:

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field. Every associate and contractor who work inside a Humana facility or in the field, regardless of vaccination status, must complete a daily health screening questionnaire.

Please note: Some areas of our business, such as the Primary Care Organization including CenterWell, Conviva, Kindred at Home, onehome, SeniorBridge, Neighborhood Centers, Pharmacy Distribution Centers and others, may be required to adhere to federal, state or local or additional workplace guidelines.

Work-At-Home Requirements:

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
