Responsible for gathering data and preparing documents required for internal and external financial reporting, including those required by regulatory agencies. Uses formal processes for data gathering and analysis of financial data relative to preparation of required filings. Prepares and/or reviews relevant financial statements, earnings releases and other related disclosures. Ensures financial reports and statements are prepared in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and coordinates with internal and external auditors. Ensures preparation and distribution of internal financial reports as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Updates and publishes daily / weekly / periodic sales reports to various stakeholders.
  • Develops and supports complex reports and modeling tools such as future store cash flow, forecast models, budget review summaries, etc.
  • Generates financial statements.
  • Generates monthly and quarterly variance analysis and explanation of significant variances in financial statements and accounts.
  • Compiles and reviews financial statement and related documents, ensuring accuracy according to regulatory, GAAP and company requirements.
  • Coordinates with other departments and monitors periodic deliverables for internal and external auditors.
  • Partners with various stakeholders on requirements gathering and scope definition for ongoing, new and ad-hoc reporting projects.
  • Responds to inquiries and ad-hoc analyses.
  • Maintains the team’s SharePoint site.
  • Develops and supports regional reporting templates.

Skills:

  • Experience with SOX Compliance and Internal Control Testing required
  • Strong understanding of multiple reporting and Accounting & Financial systems.
  • Strong financial reporting skills.
  • Understands team’s function and how it supports WFM’s goals.
  • Strong math and statistical skills for analyzing data.
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting, audit services. SEC (or equivalent) reporting, periodic financial close and tax preparation practices and procedures.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite and various software reporting tools.
  • Strong understanding of multiple reporting and Accounting & Financial systems.
  • Strong financial reporting skills.

  • Strong math and statistical skills for analyzing data.

  • Proficient in MS Office suite and various software reporting tools.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet, data management and other applications.

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree and 2-4 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
