Working closely and collaboratively across technical and non-technical stakeholders, the Sr. Technical Business Analyst will be responsible for supporting various customer data and consumer marketing services initiatives, including data onboarding projects, data enhancement initiatives, data feeds to external business users as well as internal system enhancements and data integration projects. The Sr. Technical Business Analyst will work with internal program managers, data engineers, analysts and marketers as well as with external stakeholders to formulate a deep understanding of the department's customer data needs, opportunities, constraints and challenges. The Sr. Technical Business Analyst will also be responsible for assessing potential source systems for new data as well as assessing proposals to enhance existing data processing activities and ultimately, for developing detailed project plans and technical requirements documents to support those initiatives.
Responsibilities :

  • Lead requirements gathering sessions and develop detailed functional requirements, technical specifications and project plans for proposed Data Services initiatives;
  • Define data flow requirements including source-to-target mapping documents, business rules, workflow processes, analytical operations and testing scenarios;
  • Participate in process engineering efforts related to Data Services initiatives, including documentation of solution maintenance procedure and schedules, external data provider SLAs, error handling solutions and performance monitoring plans;
  • Lead and maintain change management processes related to all Data Services operations, including maintenance of business requirements and business rules;
  • Perform on-going data profiling and data quality analysis to include deep dive analysis on large datasets using DML languages


Basic Qualifications :

  • 5 or more years of progressive experience in definition and implementation of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence solutions supporting ecommerce, direct-to-consumer marketing or consumer data analytics teams;
  • 5 or more years project managing data ingestion, data orchestration and data integration initiatives, with a focus on customer data
  • Intermediate SQL writing skills;
  • Deep understanding of database management systems and related tools specializing in managing customer data;
  • Experience working with Snowflake or other database solutions, including CDPs;
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT and data orchestration tools, including Informatica, Airflow, Python, ActiveBatch, etc.;
  • Proficiency working across technical and non-technical stakeholders within large and complex business environments;
  • Adept at using interviews, workshops and brainstorming sessions to understand business requirements and data environment constraints, translate them to workflow processes, data flow requirements, functional and technical specifications and business rules;
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong communication skills, including proficiency in writing marketing and customer data-related use cases, user stories, workflows, process diagrams, data flows and data model diagrams;
  • Experience designing and building test scenarios and testing plans including user acceptance testing and solution validation;
  • Knowledge of collaboration and project management tools including Jira, Kanban, Agile methodologies, waterfall, etc.;
  • High energy level, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage day-to-day interactions with others;


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7 or more years working on data warehousing or Business Intelligence initiatives, supporting ecommerce, direct-to-consumer marketing or consumer data analytics teams;
  • 7 or more years project managing large-scale data ingestion, data orchestration and data integration initiatives, featuring diverse sets of customer data types and sources;
  • Advanced SQL writing skills
  • Experience working with Snowflake or other database solutions, including CDPs
  • Experience project managing customer database initiatives involving significant ETL/ELT development work;
  • Experience project managing automation initiatives involving customer data orchestration tools, including Informatica, Airflow, Python, ActiveBatch, etc.


Required Education :
4-year degree in business administration or computer science;
Preferred Education :
Master's degree in business administration or computer science;
