Sr Risk Analyst
JOB SUMMARY
Under limited supervision, responsible for functions relating to the Risk Management insurance process as well as the accounting for claim reserves. Coordinates and processes the weekly, monthly and annual risk management projects as well as special insurance projects. Assists Director of Risk Management with various financial and risk reporting.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and process monthly/weekly claim bills for payment from carriers and TPAs
Prepare monthly insurance estimate of loss report
Attend monthly meetings with Accounting to discuss and explain changes in the insurance accrual balance
Assist the Sr. Manger Insurance collecting, analyzing and preparing the annual insurance renewal submissions
Assist the Director of Risk Management collecting, analyzing and preparing financial data for discussions with management
Assist in the preparation of the annual insurance budget
Function as secondary administrator of the First Report of Injury / Claims Management system
Gather, analyze, and prepare claim data to submit to insurance carriers.
Prepare the quarterly Workers' Compensation reports for the Monopolistic States
Foster strong relationships with brokers, insurance companies, attorneys and other team members
Assist with preparation of reports from Third Party Administrator's Claims Management Systems
Provide risk management advice to field, educate and train staff on risk management concepts and guidelines
Interface with the ERP Management Team to build new analytics reports for Risk Management
Participate in Process Improvement Projects
Perform other duties as requested
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and procedures
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
Ability to analyze and interpret data
Ability to show independent judgment and initiative to accomplish job duties
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to communicate with all levels of company personnel, including claimants, customers & attorneys
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to make independent decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, database, etc.)
Ability to work with others to resolve problems, handle requests or situations
Knowledge of basic insurance programs
Education
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
