The candidate will be responsible for big data engineering, data wrangling, and data analysis in the Cloud. The role will also contribute to defining and implementing Big Data Strategy for the organization along with driving implementation of IT solutions for the business. Candidate will be working with a team data engineers and data scientists to focus on applying data engineering, data science and machine learning approaches to solve business problems.

Senior Data Engineer & Data Analytics Manager is a strategic role at Abbott building big data collection and analytics capabilities to uncover customer, product and operational insights and overseeing all aspects of the data collections platform. The candidate will report to the Director of Cloud Software Engineering and will grow and oversee a geographically distributed Data Engineering and Data Analysts team to modernize and transform data insights to grow and scale our business.

The Senior Data Engineer & Data Analytics Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating all parallel data engineering initiatives. The candidate will own the Data Engineering backlog and help coordinate all the efforts around data-related requirements from other teams and effectively communicate open project risks and dependencies to other teams.

Responsibilities

Nurture and support a strong data management culture with technology, high quality implementations, self-motivated innovation, problem-solving and evolve and institutionalize behaviors for the appropriate use of information throughout the division.

Building big data collection and analytics capabilities to uncover customer, product, and operational insights.

Cross collaboration between Countries, Regions, GSM and R&D to make sure their requirements are fulfilled.

Analyzing data sources and proposing solutions to strategic planning problems on a one-time or periodic basis.

Developing analytics models and insights for customer- or employee-facing applications to drive efficiency or revenue.

Build a vision and strategy for the overall data products within the product area.

Communicate and interact with partners across the organization to understand and synthesize their data needs and collaborate on the short- and long-term goals of the business.

Grows, guides, and coaches high performing teams to successfully deliver on business goals with agility and quality.

Ensures teams have appropriate direction, leadership, and balance between short-term business needs and long-term strategy with an emphasis on retention, resilience, and growth.

Collaborates with and influences senior leaders to shape vision and roadmaps for data and product across the company.

Effectively break down, summarize, and communicate research and measurement information effectively to a variety of audiences.

Develop a deep understanding of business needs and drive the adoption of the solutions that this team deploys.

Guide the strategy for acquiring, integrating, and analyzing data from a variety of product and operational data sources and assist in the development of data products and reporting tools to provide stakeholders with relevant and actionable information.

Collaborate with engineering and data teams to help refine and enhance existing tools, processes, and workflows

Form and maintain authentic and trustworthy relationships with Business stakeholders, Product Marketing, Engineering , engineers, and cross functional teams

Actively inspects usage and other metrics to make data driven decisions to influence direction and roadmap. Create and maintains dashboards.

Self-motivated with a move-fast mindset able to work independently in a high-paced environment while adhering to strict deadlines without constant supervision.

Facilitate the establishment and execution of the roadmap for data, information architecture and data analytics in alignment with the organization's vision and strategy.

Lead data engineers, analysts and architects to deliver the solutions that fulfill business information needs and align with the information vision and strategy

Work closely with internal stakeholders to implement solutions that meet their needs, improve awareness of data insights platforms, and improve adoption of your insights.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other relevant field.

Have experience on a digital product role.

Knowledge of the Digital health industry and data driven organizations.

Experience managing and coordinating technical teams.

Data visualization experience.

Proactive communication skills with experience guiding results across cross-matrixed teams.

Experience in establishing, implementing, and socializing analytics best practices with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Excellent communicator and storyteller, presenting concepts and ideas to partners at all levels, in different shapes depending on the context.

Ability to influence decision-making at all levels within an organization, and in a variety of contexts.

Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.

Knowledge of strategies for processing large amounts of structured and unstructured data, including integrating data from multiple sources.

Knowledge of data cleaning, wrangling, visualization and reporting.

Exposure to databases, BI applications, data quality and performance tuning.

Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in an agile environment.

Experience developing software products requiring FDA approval.

Expertise in leading big data and analytics oriented projects.

Experience on GA4, Sentry, Mixpanel, Firebase, SQL.
