Sr. Director of Enterprise Data Management

Reporting to the VP of the Customer Platforms & Data team, the successful candidate is an accountable, data-driven, hands-on problem-solver who leads with a positive attitude and empathy.You are an inspiring communicator who can see the big picture, influence others, thrives in fast-paced environments and knows how to prioritize what is most important to drive a clear path forward.

As the Sr. Director of Enterprise Data Management, you will set the vision and strategy for Autodesk's enterprise data strategy, which includes Master Data Management (MDM), Data Quality, Analytical Datasets, and Data Governance. You will work closely with senior leaders within the organization of our Chief Digital Officer, as well as with stakeholders in Sales, Marketing and Customer Success to help them deliver a world-class customer experience. You will work in a fast-paced, cross-functional and highly collaborative environment alongside forward-thinking colleagues who are equally excited and passionate about the value that modern data can bring to the business and to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the Enterprise Data Management vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned to user needs and overall business priorities and objectives.
  • Partner with data owners, data stewards, and data custodians to ensure that data related business requirements are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning.
  • Define a data governance strategy focused on ensuring data is collected, stored, enriched and maintained in accordance with industry standard SLAs and SLOs.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise
  • Review existing systems in relation to future needs and benefits and recommend improvements to meet Autodesk's enterprise data needs
  • Manage and control costs associated with collecting, managing and sharing data while growing the value of the data to the organization.
  • Coordinate external data sources to eliminate redundancy and streamline the expense related to those services
  • Exhibit strong relationship management skills to work with users and stakeholders across the company to deeply understand their problems and needs.
  • Facilitate communication with users and stakeholders ensuring they are informed about roadmap progress and what they can expect from master data management.
  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 7+ years of management experience, prior experience with Enterprise Data Management preferred (especially MDM technologies)
  • Proven ability to champion an idea and bring a group to consensus
  • At least 7 years of experience in a Technology Leadership position
  • Experience defining product vision and strategy, identifying user personas and use cases, and documenting requirements and specifications
  • Able to communicate and work effectively with engineering teams
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile and collaborative cross-functional environment
  • Able to influence decision-making at all levels
  • Good communicator and storyteller, able to explain technical topics to a non-technical audience
