This position is responsible for reviewing and identifying incoming customer claims and short payments for appropriate coding and assignment. Analyst works to determine and expedite resolution in accordance with established guidelines and controls. Engages in regular communication with internal and external customers. Supports efforts of Deduction Research Analyst in the dispute management process.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Columbia Sportswear Finance & Accounting teams oversee the financial health and forward strategy for a portfolio of four global brands. These teams exercise expertise across Compliance, Credit, Financial Planning and Reporting, Tax, Treasury, Procurement and Strategy. Advancing traditional Finance & Accounting functions, the organization is also driving exciting innovation in the application of advanced analytics and automated intelligence.

As Columbia's Senior Deductions Analyst you will be responsible for reviewing and identifying incoming customer claims and short payments for appropriate coding and assignment. You'll work to determine and expedite resolution in accordance with established guidelines and controls. Here you'll use your communication and interpersonal skill to engage with internal and external customers.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of customer rules and the correlation to dispute management reason codes to ensure accuracy of coding, reviewing and coding all unidentified deductions or partial payments within SAP AR program and dispute management
  • Work with team and cross-functions partners to fully understand the complexities and nuances customer accounts. Here you'll be responsible for obtaining supporting documentation for the claim/short payment from the customer, remittance advice and or web portal
  • Update new claims within dispute management, assigning cases to appropriate team member for claim validation
  • Prepare excel uploads for customer payment remittances to ensure proper dispute coding and repayment of denied residual items, and partner with AR Specialist for corrections/reversals of identified payment application errors

YOU HAVE

  • Associate's degree in business, accounting, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Proven credit and deduction experience
  • Applied knowledge of credit and accounting practices, procedures, and policies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including excellent Excel skills is necessary to include v-lookup and pivot tables
  • SAP proficiency
