The Data Scientist exploits Kount's rich data set with algorithms to provide certainty in digital interactions. They work on a cross-functional team to identify customer issues, and then develop, deploy, and maintain their machine learning solutions in a real-time production environment. The successful candidate is highly self-motivated and will independently achieve objectives defined by stakeholder teams at the very forefront of customer interaction. What you'll do

  • Identify new and emerging fraud vectors and research methodologies to stop their exploitation by improving our current products
  • Drive the creation of new features, models, products, and capabilities that will enable and empower Kount products and offering
  • Conceptualize, analyze and develop actionable recommendations for strategic challenges facing the organization.
  • Work with key stakeholders and understand their needs to develop new or improve existing solutions.
  • Develop analytical approaches to meet business requirements; this involves translating requests into use cases, test cases, preparation of training data sets and iterative algorithm development.
  • Build automated ML/AI modules, jobs, and pipelines to improve our data science R&D and new product development process.
  • Work on the end to end interpretation , design, creation, and build of large and highly complex analytics related capabilities in production.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners

What experience you need

  • Master's degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or other related discipline
  • 6+ years of demonstrable advanced Python programming experience, ideally utilizing PySpark, MLeap, MLFlow, Pandas, and SKLearn
  • 6+ years of demonstrable machine learning experience in both supervised and unsupervised methods including but not limited to ensemble methods, decision trees, support vector machines, clustering, time-series analysis
  • 4+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL, ideally utilizing Snowflake, Postgres, MySQL.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in statistical or mathematical-related technical role in financial, insurance, healthcare, or telecommunication industries
  • 2+ years of demonstrable experience of effective communications to deliver the data and ML story to customers and stakeholders with different business and technical background
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud-based platforms and solutions, ideally utilizing AWS (lambda, EC2, EMR), GCP, map-reduce, high-performance parallelized computing, and cloud-based version control
  • 2+ years of experience in visualization with Python, Tableau, Spotfire etc.

What could set you apart

  • Customer interaction/consultation experience
  • Fraud detection, Anomaly Detection and Rare Event prediction
  • Experience with real time constraints from applications such as payment fraud risk assessment, online account protection, robotics, or real-time computer vision/signal processing.
  • Sufficient in BigQuery API libraries- Experience with GCP native ML and data streaming tools (basic GCP certification is a plus)
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes or similar types of development automation and management tools
