What You’ll Bring to The Team:

Florence is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design and maintain data pipelines that power analytics and advanced reporting on the Florence Enterprise Data Platform. As a member of the R&D organization you will manage critical business data assets, leveraging cloud based big data tools to enable data-driven decisions across Florence. You will bring a healthy obsession for data quality and a willingness to partner with security and compliance experts, understanding the unique data sovereignty requirements of a global customer base. You will: 

  • Collaborate with business and product teams to understand and identify key metrics required to advance the enterprise data platform
  • Recommend tools and techniques for efficient data movement, transformation, and storage to facilitate a high performance data warehouse environment
  • Architect, build, and deploy scalable data pipelines to power analytics and reporting on data elements found across multiple source systems
  • Deliver data platform infrastructure as code, managing deployment and configuration requirements as well as internal release documentation
  • Contribute to our culture, invent new ways to address industry needs, criticize constructively, and help create a world-changing company

An Ideal Candidate is/has:

  • 3+ years of experience working with cloud based enterprise analytics platform and/or data warehouse projects (AWS preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL on multiple database platforms
  • Programming background with experience in data science focused languages such as Python, Scala, R
  • Experience with AWS Redshift or similar data warehouse solutions
  • Solid understanding of both relational and NoSQL database modeling and schema design principles
  • Experience manipulating large datasets and creating high-performance queries
  • Intense focus on data security best practices
  • Proficient with AWS services including IAM and S3 configuration
  • Proficient with Git

Bonus Points if you have:

  • Experience with AWS Lake Formation, AWS Glue and/or AWS EMR
  • Prior knowledge and exposure to distributed data frameworks (Hadoop/Spark/Pig)
  • Proficiency in SQL & NoSQL databases (Redshift, MongoDB), specifically on the development or reporting side
  • Proficiency in building modular applications
  • Experience with Microservices and/or Service-Oriented Architecture
