Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as an analytics expert for your partners, using numbers to help them make better decisions
• Effectively turn business questions into data analysis, and provide meaningful recommendations on strategy. Make key recommendations for Product Management
• Deliver effective presentations of findings to multiple levels of stakeholders, creating visual displays of quantitative information
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand user experience and identify new features and functions of Optum's data assets
• Assess new potential data assets for value-add and overlap with our existing data
• Develop enhancements and new additions to our existing data assets, from conceptual design through to development, QA setup, automation, and data documentation
• Ensure smooth handoff of newly developed data concepts to the operations team for production
• Serve as a subject matter expert on areas within the Life Sciences data model

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, engineering, math, data science or other quantitative related field
• 3+ years of experience in data analytics, capable of conducting exploratory analysis independently to provide insights and business recommendations
• 3+ years of experience working with claims, EHR and other healthcare data sources
• 3+ years of experience in SQL or other related languages
• Experience working with relational databases, data warehousing and data modeling techniques
• Experience communicating thru various mediums to a variety of stakeholders

Preferred Qualifcations:

• Masters degree
• Experience in data product development in Life Sciences
• Experience working with AWS or other cloud computing platform
• Knowledge of ETL Process (ETL methodology of Data Extraction, Transformation and Load processing)
• Interest and aptitude in data, metrics, analysis and trends and applied knowledge of measurement, statistics and program evaluation
• Ability to translate analysis results into business recommendations, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Distinctive problem solving skills and impeccable business judgment

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600.
