Primary Responsibilities:

  • Gather business requirements for operational monitoring requests from stakeholders, work with data and IT partners to translate business requests into data and monitoring solutions
  • Lead meetings with clients to provide details on our specific product/services and gather requirements
  • Oversee operational monitoring and controls activities for assigned areas of responsibility to ensure deadlines are met in accordance with business compliance monitoring work plans
  • Identify and resolve technical and operational production problems for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Diagnose process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions
  • Track and report on operational execution and monitoring action plan commitments and progress for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Analyze and understand regulatory and contractual requirements to business operations in developing and managing internal production control plans
  • Create documentation to support monitoring and issue resolution activities
  • Support testing plans, process documentation and functional specifications for new and existing EDI mappings and workflows
  • Ensures completion of end-to-end testing for all clients, including troubleshooting
  • Provide short-term post-production support and execute cohesive hand-over to production support
  • Work cohesively with contacts across technology, implementations, operations, and product

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Health Administration or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience related to business analysis, healthcare operations, process improvement, or project management
  • 5+ years of experience working directly with large, complex, high volume data sets, data systems, and integrated systems
  • Previous experience with defining and implementing operational control and monitoring mechanisms in a heavy transaction-based environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lead discovery sessions with clients and provide solution recommendations
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to translate detailed plans and findings for executive audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across a large, highly regulated environment
  • Experience with business intelligence/visualization software for reporting (preferably Qlik or Power BI)
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, database structures (SQL, Oracle, Teradata)
  • Foundational knowledge for executing SQL queries
  • Knowledge of ANSI X12 Standards
  • Self-motivated and directed
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to present fact-based recommendations in a clear, logical, and concise way: 'tell a story' with data

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only : The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
