An individual in the Architecture job family is a strategic resource for UnitedHealth Group. This individual could be involved across many aspects of architecture, design, build, engineering and implementation of technical solutions and capabilities providing technical leadership. Responsible for communicating overall architecture vision, technical strategies, and trade-offs across various levels in the organization to gain buy-in. Will provide recommendations and technical guidance to improve performance, reliability, and reusability within the constraints of budget, resource and business dependencies. In base and mid-level roles, engages across teams in a capacity that ranges from assisting on in-flight initiatives, up to technical briefings and demonstrations of new technologies across the organization. In senior level roles, leads business solutions, capabilities, and is a strong influencer that engages with client executives and stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops and documents workflow, systems requirements, system impact analysis, systems design, process analysis and testing (including reasonableness checks) using software development methodology to provide efficient, cost-effective solutions
  • Ownership of the full product development process: problem identification, solution design and scoping, implementation, adoption and validation. Ability to engage the technical and business teams to drive story mapping, product journeys, requirements, planning and task estimations to support top business priorities
  • Be able to leverage his product expertise, leadership and 360 degree business perspective to deliver exceptional results for the Business • Support in creating product features, user stories, and acceptance criteria in Rally for development team and stakeholders
  • Conduct impact analysis and identify, incorporate the API to match with the proposed business change upfront
  • Conduct proof of concept(POC) to stakeholders and take their signoff
  • Program increment planning, prioritization of tasks/requirements and identify the risks upfront
  • Help the technical teams to make them understand the business significance and the functionality and interact with cross teams to sync up the requirement • Mentor QA in identifying all the possible test scenarios for a requirement and prepare for the test data accordingly
  • Respond to customer requests regarding issues in system and enhancements and escalate issues if required for faster resolution
  • Conducts root cause analyses, gathering data to pinpoint problem areas on which to focus, validating that the analysis is data driven, recommending and implementing solutions and evaluating those results, and implementing controls to monitor consistent use of the solution
  • Generally, work is self-directed and not prescribed
  • Works with less structured, more complex issues
  • Serves as a resource to others

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor Degree and minimum 5 years of Architect experience
  • Experience working with remote, geographically distributed teams, and senior leaders
  • Experience in Vision insurance domain knowledge like Supplier Chain Management, Contact Lens Order Entry, Eyeglass order Entry etc.
  • Knowledge on Rally, REST, JSON, Wireframe, MYSQL, SQL Server, Jenkins, Maven, Kubernetes, MongoDB, AWS, Azure/GCP, Kafka, Canonical Model, API Development
  • Expertise in writing and implementing Technical and Solution architecture
  • API Management and Testing - thru SOAPUI and Postman
  • Data Model Design
  • Performance Tuning
  • Knowledge of CI/CD & Devops
  • Ability to develop Microservices and REST API
  • Excellent System Design knowledge with high security and better performance
  • Experience building chatbots/voicebots using Azure cognitive services
  • Polyglot programming experience with other languages like Python/NodeJS
