The Opportunity

This position offers an excellent and challenging opportunity to apply quantitative and qualitative risk management techniques to an insurance business that is a subsidiary of a large financial institution. It is the purpose of the Ally Insurance Risk Management organization, to establish and maintain effective controls and tools for the management of risk that may impact, among other things, earnings, capital adequacy, liquidity, and reputation. To identify, measure, and manage these and other risks, Risk Management strives to implement effective internal controls, provide timely and reliable management information, and develop processes and metrics to monitor exposures.

The Work Itself

Risk Frameworks: Lead in the build out and Management of the following

Risk Management Frameworks:

Risk and Control Self Assessments

Governance Document Management

Dealer Monitoring Framework

Conduct & Reputation Risk

Payments Governance Framework

Risk Measurement: Utilize and contribute to improving risk indicators that are used to monitor and report risk exposures in the business. Be able to understand risk limit, KPI, KRI and implement the metrics accordingly.

Risk Monitoring: Prepare material for quarterly leadership committee and board meetings, including organizing and compiling agenda materials, taking meeting minutes and tracking any action items that may arise.

Risk Reporting:

Research, analyze and summarize information from various sources in a cohesive manor to support decision-making for management.

Manage multiple processes under stringent deadlines to consolidate management reporting.

Support the business in responding to requests from Internal Audit and Regulators.

Competencies

Strong knowledge of statistical software - SAS preferred

Results Oriented

Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills

Continuous self-development

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

The Skills You Bring

Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or statistics preferred

Pursuing or completed insurance and/or risk management related designation preferred

3-5 years of related experience
