Overview
Business Continuity Manager will be responsible for the planning aspects of the Business Continuity Program along with executing on the operational facets of the Program to ensure the organization's resiliency in event of business disruptions. Following an interruption of service to the business, this individual will work with the response team to assess the situation and make recommendations as to what, if any, aspects of the Business Continuity Plan should be enacted. This person assists in the management of the interruption through to its conclusion.
Job Description

  • Participate in assessing the impact of a potential disruption to the business (including people, facilities, and IT infrastructure)
  • Provides guidance to critical business units and coordinates the development of business resumption and disaster recovery plans throughout the enterprise
  • Assists recovery support and business resumption staff during a crisis in the implementation of response and business resumption and operating strategies
  • Develops and maintains plans (BC, TR, Communications, Failover, Infopacks) using the Business Continuity Management Software
  • Works closely with the IT Application owners to ensure Technology Recovery Plans and strategies are in line with business strategies, and identifies any gaps and works with process owners to close those gaps.
  • Conducts and maintains a Business Impact Analysis (BIA). Analyzes BIA data and ensures that business units update and or make the appropriate changes to their business continuity and TR plans as required by the BIA.
  • Performs risk analysis for business and IT areas to identify points of vulnerability and recommend crisis business disruptions and reduction strategies.
  • Manage the execution and completion of all business continuity/disaster recovery test activities. Collaborate with business unit management, external business partners and key IT staff members for the purpose of planning, directing, controlling and maintaining effective business continuity and disaster recovery plan testing.
  • Manages and is the main administrator of the Business Continuity Management Software
  • Conducts business continuity and disaster recovery training for stakeholders in all priority business areas.
  • Ensures IT performs appropriate recovery capacity planning and analysis in support of specific business unit initiatives.
  • Oversee the execution of the business continuity and technology recovery plans when IT and/or major business operations disruptions occur.
  • Manage Business Continuity systems as necessary, including but not limited to, the business continuity management system and the electronic notification system. Ensure system feature and functionality remain current and meet developing business needs.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization's desired culture and values.

Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • BC-DR Certification is strongly desired (ABCP, CFCP, CBCP, MBCP, CBCI, AMBCI, SBCI, MBCI, and/or DRCE)
  • 3-5 years of experience in Business Continuity and/or Disaster Recovery related area
  • Must have administrator experience with Business Continuity Management Software.
  • Must have experience with Geo-Location Mapping.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; this will be assessed during the interview process
  • Must be highly proficient in Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Sites, MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently
  • Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, mathematical skills and sound judgment
  • 4 Year college degree (Bachelor) or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years - Minimum years of experience
  • Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred
