Speech Research Manager
Do you want to help create millions of work from home jobs using AI and push the boundaries of ASR? As our first Research Manager, you will push the accuracy of our ASR system and lead our Advanced Research team to develop innovative techniques in ASR and adjacent fields such as Diarization, NLP, and VAD. You will manage a small team, stay on top of academia, attend and participate in research conferences, and realize our vision of democratizing speech understanding.
As a Research Manager, you will
- Manage a small team of researchers focused on Speech Recognition and adjacent fields.
- Find ways to improve word accuracy by testing and developing new techniques.
- Find ways to leverage speaker and acoustic characteristics in novel ways to improve our models.
- Provide input and suggestions towards innovating new approaches and new product features.
- Interact daily with other teams at Rev working towards a shared goal
Qualifications:
- University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields
- 3+ years of experience developing ASR systems (training and fine-tuning models)
- Fluency in Python, C++, shell scripting, and Linux usage.
- Broad mastery of speech recognition techniques such as WFSTs, lattice processing, neural net (RNN / DNN / LSTM), acoustic and language models, and Viterbi decoding.
- Experience with Deep Learning frameworks (such as TensorFlow or PyTorch).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Comfort working with remote teams as a proactive team member.

Kaldi, C++, TensorFlow, Python, PyTorch, wFST, ASR, end-to-end, rnnlm, lstm, neural networks, acoustic modeling, language modeling, speaker diarization, speaker identification, bash, linux, jenkins, docker, and KenLM.
