The Role
Reorg is looking for candidates with a keen interest and background in legal, regulatory, and/or legislative affairs and a strong interest in writing about events, issues and trends for a sophisticated subscriber base, including hedge funds, restructuring advisors and BigLaw firms. You will join an established team providing coverage of complex litigation, regulatory enforcement actions, mergers and acquisitions and other market-moving proceedings and events. You’re passionate, hard-working and looking for a career covering complex situations for the investment and advisory communities.

Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day coverage of regulatory proceedings, rulemaking and legislative actions across a wide variety of cases, industries and jurisdictions
- Produce both breaking real-time reports and analysis on events
- Attend, digest and summarize hearings
- Assist with Reorg’s coverage of mergers and acquisitions including status of regulatory challenges and approvals
- Participate in teleconferences and meetings with lawyers and investment professionals seeking expert analysis
Requirements
- Graduate with excellent academic record and 1-3 years experience as legislative or regulatory staffer, paralegal, or other legal or regulatory experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- A comprehensive understanding of legislative and regulatory processes. Experience with mergers and acquisitions is a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment
- Enjoys creative problem-solving and looks to take on new challenges
- The willingness and ability to travel occasionally for hearings and other industry events
