JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary:

This person is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and on-time delivery of all service parts. This includes maintenance of the ERP system (Materials functions), supplier management and customer order preparation

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor & process customer orders for service parts.
  • Ensure releases for parts are entered at correct engineering revision levels.
  • Update MRP system to ensure customer orders are processed on to supply base.
  • Monitor and adjust customer & supplier cums as necessary.
  • Monitor customer driven systems as required (i.e. DCX's SMART & DRIVE, etc.).
  • Obtain quotes & issue spot buy purchase orders for setup or other charges incurred for past model parts.
  • Monitor inventory to ensure accuracy and meet mandated levels. Utilize cycle count worksheets, negative inventory report, etc. and root cause all variances.
  • Monitor Supply Chain reports to ensure on-time delivery of parts from suppliers (i.e. Supply Chain Coverage and Supplier Past Due reports).
  • Monitor deliveries to ensure suppliers' adherence to schedule.
  • Update KPI reports for service items and shipments.
  • Summarize weekly service build requirements for program scheduler .
  • Monitor and report fluctuations in demand for service items.
  • Report service shipments for the week to the Quality Manager.
  • Maintain frequent contact with customer/s regarding part release information, timely delivery and resolution of any problem that may arise or potentially affect BWI's ability to meet the customer's demand.
  • Work closely with the Master Scheduler/s with new launch & balance out activities.
  • Work with the Master Scheduler on BOM tear downs for service parts and update the system with all changes.
  • Package and label all service parts for shipment according to customer mandated guidelines.
  • Prepare shipment paperwork (packing list, bill of lading, customs invoice, etc).
  • Transmit ASN's for all service shipments.
  • Document and dispute all service delivery rating issues.
  • Any additional duties as assigned and deemed necessary by the Material Manager.


Environmental, Health & Safety:
  • Ensure the protection of the environment, prevention of pollution and the continual improvement of the Environmental Management System.
  • Providing leadership in developing measures and practices that prevent accident and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA/TCEQ standards. This includes: continuously monitor the workplace for hazardous environmental, health, and safety conditions.
  • Ensure environmental, health and safety hazards are corrected, eliminated or guarded
  • Assessing engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE on an on-going basis
  • Assisting in the investigation of accidents. This includes:
  • Identifying hazardous situations that are associated with the accident
  • Having the authority to: Stop and prevent unsafe actions; stop the use of unsafe equipment and tools, stop work and/or have employees leave a work area
  • Investigate all near misses and other environmental/safety-related incidents that have occurred within the incident area
  • Ensure the results of environmental/safety audits are documented; monitoring the investigation of accidents and injuries; ensuring that corrective actions are taken; and providing recommendations for ways to prevent similar accidents
  • Ensure that all incident reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner

Qualification Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor Level Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.

Experience Required:

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is desired, preferably with an automotive background. Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes. Basic knowledge of MRP systems. Must have a consistent employment record to include good attendance, and be capable of adapting to a participative work environment.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints and procedure manuals. Candidate has the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Candidate has the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Candidate has the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs. Candidate has the ability to create visual aids for communication purposes.

Duties also include assisting in the day-to-day management of the Environmental Management System. Following all environmental work instruction and / or cleaning up spills or other duties required of the Environmental 1st Response Team.
