The impact you’ll make:

As a Senior Data Engineer on the Analytics team you will maintain and advance our analytics platform and underlying data models to enable advanced reporting, data science analysis and running machine learning models. You will be an integral part of providing data-driven insights that inform significant business decisions by setting up data infrastructure, building data pipelines, deploying machine learning models to production, and implementing reporting frameworks for different business units.

This team works with Product, Marketing, Content and Operations teams to deliver the insights and data that drive the growth engine of our business. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Lead the efforts to design and develop data models and applications using selected tools and frameworks.
  • Own, build and continuously improve our data infrastructure. Become an expert on all aspects of our data and analytical infrastructure.
  • Pioneer, lead and own complex data projects that often involve coordination with different disciplines and teams.
  • Work closely with the backend and client engineering team to ensure  end to end data integrity. 
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest state-of-the-art techniques in data technologies and help to foster a culture of learning within the organization.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or related practical experience.
  • 4+ years Experience writing Big Data pipelines, as well as custom or structured ETL, implementation, and maintenance
  • Experience with data processing (such as Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive, MapReduce, etc).
  • Proficient in writing SQL queries and with data warehousing concepts working on Snowflake etc.
  • Strong foundation in software engineering
  • Strong proficiency in Python
  • Significant experience optimizing software to run fast, be reliable and fail safely – O(n) analysis should be easy for you.
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience running (machine learning) data pipelines
  • Experience with data modelling tools like dbt is preferred.
