Job summary
The Red Hat North America (NA) Commercial Business Finance team is looking for a Senior Sales Strategy and Planning Analyst focused on partners and alliances to support the NA Commercial sales team in Raleigh, NC or remotely. In this role, you will partner with NA Commercial Partners and Alliances Sales leadership team to advise them on their go-to-market strategy, sales forecast, and fiscal year plan. You will compile, analyze, and interpret sales data to make data-based decisions. You'll need to be able to understand complex financial problems and provide explanations and solutions that are sound and clearly communicated. As a Senior Sales Strategy and Planning Analyst, you will also need to have excellent communication skills and ability to support multiple teams.
Primary job responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted adviser and business partner to the NA Commercial Partners and Alliances Sales team
  • Develop analyses, KPI metrics, and presentations that will provide insight and direction to sales leadership
  • Use your deep knowledge of the business to build financial models and performance metrics for fiscal year planning
  • Provide forecast and pipeline analytics that will improve the leadership team's ability to guide the business and surpass targets
  • Effectively collaborate with other business support teams like operations, marketing, and global finance on deliverables as needed
  • Work extended hours during quarter or year-end periods when required
  • Develop an understanding of Red Hat's workflows and a deep understanding of our policies
  • Partner with our global shared services team on deliverables and special projects
  • Continuously look for ways to improve productivity or the level of services provided to the business


Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with financial modeling, sensitivity analysis, and forecasting
  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to quickly assess business processes and solve complex problems
  • Experience collaborating with sales team members to gather critical information and deliver data-driven analyses and recommendations
  • Accustomed to managing diverse large datasets, compiling sales reports, and performing analyses to enable strategic decisions
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
  • Previous experience with Tableau, Anaplan, or Salesforce.com (SFDC) is a plus
  • Prior experience working with a sales management, business consulting, or marketing organization is a plus
